“Lovely weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My wife and I booked a long weekend stay at the Cavalaire, when we arrived Garry welcomed us and took our bags for us and offered us a well needed cup of tea & coffee. Would recommend arranging parking with them directly - saves worrying about it as the traffic wardens move with military precision.. We were lucky enough to stay in Room 7 - spacious, light with an amazingly comfortable huge four poster bed Garry gave us a map and pointed out restaurants and bars to us, which we checked out at various stages of our stay. The Cavalaire is within walking distance of everywhere - the pier, wheel, all the shopping and sights. Breakfast was spot on, lots of choice and all cooked fresh. Nothing was too much trouble. The attentive and informal service from Derek and Garry during our stay made us feel really welcome, like we were staying with friends. We loved our weekend in Brighton and were sad to leave - due in no small part to our hosts at the Cavalaire. We'll definitely be coming back and wouldn't hesitate recommending it.

“Winter Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

My husband and I had 2 nights in Brighton for a short mid week break. The Cavalaire was excellent. Garry and Derek were very welcoming and breakfast was great. The position is very convenient for things to do and restaurants.

“Close, comfortable, welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Cavalaire for a mid-week get away without the kids and made the reservation from the car an hour before we arrived. They were helpful getting us parked (a challenge for which they have a good remedy, be sure to ask). On arrival, they got us to our room and then gave us a map of Brighton and began to mark out many locally-owned restaurants, coffee houses, and pubs within walking distance (everything is within walking distance of this place). We were fortunate to stay in one of their 4-poster rooms. It was big and comfortable and had a functional ensuite bath with a nice shower--plenty of pressure and hot water. The bed was quite comfortable with nice linens. Breakfast was made to order, pretty much anything we asked for they had. Good omelets. Full English or breads. We enjoyed our conversation(s) with Derek and Gary, the owners. They are great hosts.

“Friendly, helpful owners and very comfortable rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed at The Cavalaire for two nights and it was excellent. We've stayed before and enjoyed it but this time was even better. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and nothing was a bother to them. Breakfast is fantastic.

“Home from home - the perfect base for a stay in Brighton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

The Cavalaire was a real 10/10 experience. We had two wonderful nights there in November 2011. From the minute we arrived the experience was superb. Derek was so welcoming and we enjoyed a free upgrade to a four posted bedded room - a beautifully appointed room was just a fantastic, comfortable base. Derek recommended some local Kemp Town eateries and bars - we had thought we would spend the weekend evenings in the Lanes but instead enjoyed some "proper" atmospheric pubs just a few minutes walks away and two superb meals one in an Italian and one in a Thai that had been recommended. We also sampled a great cocktail bar which Derek had told us about.
The breakfast is superb too - the guys are so friendly and the food was really delicious, loads of choice with all tastes and appetites catered for..
The hotel has been lovingly restored both the public areas and our room. The Cavalaire simply gives you everything you need - genial, helpful hosts, lovely room, great food, 5minutes from the seafront, 5 minutes from nightlife and 10 mins from the Lanes ... the perfect base - we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The website is excellent so you really can easily select a room to suit your need / budget - all the...
