I stayed at the Grange almost two yeas ago and couldn't fault anything about our visit the first time round. Our second stay was still..... nice. But I wont be as quick to recommend this place any more.
We paid for a dinner, bed and breakfast package in a deluxe room just over a week ago. There was nothing awful about the room itself, it just didn't feel very "deluxe". The bathroom was looking a little old and tired and there was a large crack going half way up one wall and across the ceiling.
I asked if we could switch to another room and with in five minutes we were unpacking in a much nicer room! I would advise asking for this room (no.4 I think) it was much bigger than the first room, with a modern bathroom and a large four poster bed. We also had a large balcony which over looked the garden.
The food and the service in the restaurant that evening was very good although it did lack a bit of an atmosphere, possibly being due to how quiet it was.

The next morning our cooked breakfasts were a little disappointing and the staff seemed to forget small details like bringing us over any milk and butter etc.. This sort of thing is quite annoying seeing as we were 1 of only two tables eating at that time so it isn't as if the staff were too busy.

Although we had a nice time away I will not be going back to the Grange again, it seems as if the standards have dropped a little and it didn't feel as special as before.

Our family were in the area for a couple of days and as I dont know the area well, I chose this hotel purely based on previous reviews. It looked lovely on their website and on Tripadvisor but the reality was even better. We arrived early evening to a very warm welcome. It is a beautiful property and the rooms were extremely spacious and clean. The bar is lovely and has a fire going in the evening. If we were impressed with the hotel, the restaurant was the icing on the cake! Absolutely excellent food. There is a great choice on the menus and the staff were ery accommodating to my very fussy son who was with us and we could choose from the bar menu which is itself full of mouthwatering choices. It felt more like a gastronomy break for us than anything else! Breakfast too was of very very high quality and the staff are all great. I can't wait to go back. It is everything a small English hotel should be but often isnt. Lovely!

What a lovely place to stay, we had the 4 poster room with balcony in the old part of the hotel. The bathroom had been updated since we stayed last and was very impressive.We had bathrobes included! The room was clean and comfortable and overlooked the gardens and surrounding countryside.
The 3 course meal was lovely we had the scallops to start which were cooked to perfection as was the steak which followed.The pudding was lovely too, and thankyou to the staff who put a candle in mine for my birthday!!
The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Great hotel will be staying again!!

We stayed again for the weekend at The Grange and enjoyed the experience just as much.

Booked a standard double in the ‘new’ block, which was above expectations. Large, comfortable and welcoming room, particularly the underfloor heating in the bathroom! The room was big enough to accommodate a nice sized sofa to relax in. Do not forget to take your bathrobe though, as not provided.

All the staff were very friendly and attentive as before. In autumn the gardens are still a delight, however the restaurant is a bit too pricey for what is delivered.
