I knew it would be a great guest house (having not used Trip Advisor) just from making the booking when Joan was so warm and friendly, explaining her security of information she holds etc.
We arrived and were made welcome by being invited to make ourselves at home. Our room was Room 2, a twin room, with plenty of storage space for a longer stay than we were staying for. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was well arranged (plenty of room in the shower without knocking knees, elbows etc) and the array of toileteries was almost confusing in its' choice. Joan keeps an honesty 'shop' for those last minute forgotten bits and pieces, including black socks!!!
The breakfasts were well and freshly cooked, tremendous choice of 15. I love the fact that there is a fridge in the hall for guests to use, milk and juice, and also a very comfortable guest lounge and Joan will bring you a teapot and jug for a very civilised take on tea!
Joan was extremely knowledgeable about the area, which included restaurants, places to go, local transport and the way to go in a couple of cases.
All in all a delightful stay. I went with a friend, but shall be taking my mother next year, to visit Maiden Castle (at the end of the road) as it says on the address!
