Checked in, very unimpressed with the grubby, shabby little reception. Even more unimpressed when the stag do checked in behind us. The hoover was in the reception so the chamber maid came and dragged that out past us to go and hoover our room. She was back in about 3 minutes saying it was ready. We didn't even bother going up, just asked for our money back and ran!

The hotel was very old & dated. We had no hot water which meant cold showers, I reported this to reception who told me that it would be sorted but when I came to shower the next morning it was still freezing-I was told it was working fine when they checked-clearly it wasn't! We also had no heating & as it was old the windows were very drafty. Defiantly not worth the money we paid!!

The hotel looked the ideal place to stay for a night after a Specials gig, but the rooms were filthy, bedding old complete with cigarette burns, carpeted bathroom with huge holes in it and woke up with bite marks from I dread to think!!!
The staff, some Scottish geezer was incredibly unhelpful and unfriendly, we met up with family and close friends after for a drink and he refused to serve us as my guests were not staying at the hotel!!!
The Rock memorabilia on the walls were the only eye opener!!! Stear clear!!!

Location is good, close to the city center and the sea, but hotel needs a serious remodeling. Hallway looks ok, but carpet was dirty with lots of stains.
Room:
*dirty walls,
*dirty carpet
*dirty windows
*old ferniture.
*broken night light (placed at the closet),
*dirty chairs (full of hair)....to seat I put towel on it
*bed sheets very thin, polyester 100%
*torn curtains
The only one thing I liked was cookies .....and a view from my room
Bathroom:
*Ripped towels
*Mold
*old, broken tiles - need to me fixed
Breakfast - nothing special.....just continental....not english breakfast.
Very friendly people working there I must say.
I booked it on line, paid 22 BP (SPECIAL PRICE)- I think it was too much anyway !!
