“Winter sunshine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We just had a great night away at Urban Beach (January 25th) It was our third stay here and as ever it was fabulous. We had room 2 which was beautiful with a large chandelier. Its over the bar so if you want an early night take ear plugs but I would recommend to forget that and stay in the bar til it shuts anyway! Not all the rooms have a bath so look carefully on the website when you book as the lovely lavender bath salts provided would be a shame to miss. In fact all the bitsn pieces in the rooms are lovely - even posh tea bags are provided! The bar has a really hip feel to it and the cocktails change regularly and are a nice mixture of classics and inventive concoctions. We always eat in the hotel restaurant and have not been disappointed yet - my husband particularly rated his dessert which was bread and butter pudding. Make sure you have the eggs benedict for breakfast - divine . It's always worth a wander down to the sister bar / deli/ restaurant on the seafront (urban reef) which is also beautiful . And stop on the way back at Reef Experience for the best pineapple caipirinha you will ever taste !

“the best hotel ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

the Urban beach hotel is quirky, fun and inventive. we stayed here in january and booked into room 8. the room had a split floor bathroom which was spotless with a bath and shower. our room had a tv and dvd player with a selection of dvds which was perfect for our relaxing break.

we decided to eat at the hotel in the evening and found that the food was outstanding. we had read reviews that said the hotel was too far away from bournmouth however we found that the 30minute sea front stroll was a nice way to spend our time. there are also lots of busses that run from bournmouth to boscombe.

breakfast in the morning was available until 11 which was very civilised and the food again was amazing. the whole break had a personal and friendly feel to it.

we would definatly stay at the hotel again!!

x

“Great 60th Birthday Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

My husband and I stayed a night as part of my 60 birthday celebrations. My daughter gave me a card saying 60 is the new 20 and that summed up my feelings staying here! There is a great fun and friendly vibe, the room and bathroom looked stylish and trendy and the breakfast was one of the best we have had anywhere.
My tip is to book on the hotel website and you can choose which room you like the look of. They guarantee their rates, live on their website, are the very best deals you can get.

Room Tip: I peeped in other rooms when they were cleaning and they are all a bit different so study their webs...

“Don't let the Funkiness put you off”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This is a really good B&B. You get the feeling the owners have stayed in other B&B's and thought 'how can we make this a better experience'. Its the little touches I like, for example a selection of dvd's to watch, welly's for the beach and the best in my opinion a note saying where the switch is to turn the extractor fan off in the bathroom so you can relax in quiet.
The breakfast really was one of the best I've had. They say this as a lot of places do, but this really was good. Everything from the glasses for the fruit juice being big, the range of cereal to the quality of the cooked ingredients.
The bed was comfy and the heating had the room at the right temperature.

Don't let the 'funkiness' of it put you off.

Points to note:- The water system made a noise during the night. The way I got rid of the noise was to run the cold tap a few times.
The funky sink in the room looks cool, but with the tap in the middle its very difficult to wash/rinse your face.
It is a drive to the gym and the town centre.
Paid £38.

“I adore this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I went to stay at the Urban Beach for a break as I'm a carer. This hotel is very special. It is unique in many ways, one of the biggest I found was the atmosphere, it is free and fun but still serious when it comes to food, drink and service.
The hotel makes it's own scrummy liqueurs and delicious, inventive, responsible food.
The atmosphere is very relaxed, a bit surfy, very Sunday morning but exciting too.
The rooms are really lovely. Ultra clean, well thought out and very comfortable. There are many nice touches, for example a DVD library and a phone charger unit in case you forget yours plus really nice drinks and biscuits in the room. The showers are good, the beds comfy. I wished I could work there, you just know it's going places. It reminded me of when I first went into Cosmetics to Go, years ago (now Lush) just that feeling that they'd got it spot on, were meant for great things, and you were privileged to be there.
Will definitely stay again when I am able. Thanks Urban Beach :-) x x x

Room Tip: Just ask, the staff are really friendly and helpful and will tell you which one would suit you best.
