Run by a wonderful couple, Martin and Jing, I wholeheartedly recommend you seek it out if you are Bournemouth bound. There was a problem with my light in my room, which was not an issue to me as there were a couple of lamps as well, but they were very sweetly insistent that I moved into their top floor family room which has a sea view and is fabulous. My work takes me all over the country and I am certain this would not have happened at very many of the hotels I have frequented (I'm a bit of a self confessed tight-wad and don't like to pay more than £50 for a room). The initial room I had was £35 which already represented supreme value. The decor throughout the place is immaculate and a world away from the frayed fleapit drudgery that Philip Larkin used to base poems on. And alas which I've encountered and sometimes payed more than £35 a night for the dubious pleasure. Martin and Jing are wonderful, helpful hosts, talkative and instantly welcoming, the breakfasts are a delight with many appealing options, everywhere is spotless and they get all the little details right (umbrellas to borrow, biscuits in your room that are actually enjoyable to eat, quality tea and coffee, clean, new towels, lots of tourist info, wifi, a comfortable and accessible lounge). I was there for 3 days and loved it. Plus if you've not been to Bournemouth before it is well worthy of a visit, as is nearby Poole. Antique shops, quaysides, olde worlde charm, great bars and imaginative restaurants. It's a splendid part of the UK. And The Cremona is your ideal base to explore it from.
