“Service Please!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

The Hotel appeared to cater for business people and domestic customer's (like ourselves), which made for a bizarre and uncomfortable experience!

As you would expect the staff were varied in age and experience. Though we enjoyed some good service, we also encountered indifference, ignorance and lack of professionalism.

The accommodation was reasonable.

The facilities were generally quite poor. My partner had a manicure, which chipped and came off after 24 hours and a facial, which was too aggressive and used the wrong products for the skin type.
The swimming pool was useless to us, as the staff were reluctant to offer any assistance, in providing for the needs of our disabled daughter. Especially the changing room facilities where they expected us to change our disabled daughter on a bench.

Food was very average for the high prices they were charging. More like a cheap and cheerful pub chain, instead of a four star restaurant.

Overall, we would not stay here again due to the lack of service and poor food.

“very average!”

A long distance from the town and with so many hotels in Bournemouth there doesn't appear to be any good reason to stay here unless you're a keep fit fanatic. The restaurant is very expensive especially wine prices and the food can at best be described as average. Functional without extras. Thin walls and ceilings meant noise throughout the night. Don't get conned by the offers, the hotel is not value for money.Rather disappionting I'm afraid.

“Mixed Feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We stayed in this hotel over Christmas. I didnt like the mayhem of the 'village' area at the front of the hotel. Kids everywhere and general chaos. However I think was because I didnt expect it and it probably is fine if you have family etc.

Leaving the village part to one side, the rooms were lovely as were the staff. We were very comfy in a clean and tidy room. I chatted to the Spa staff and they were entertaining and helpful as were the staff on reception. Thank you to the receptionist who gave us some chocolates!

The dining area I didnt like at all, it was badly designed and cluttered. I thought it let the hotel down as it was nothing like the same standard as the rooms.

Because of the dining area I probably wouldnt stay there again - unless I found a good deal on!
Oh one good point was how welcome our dog was!
