The rooms are clean and comftable with pleanty of wardrobe space. tea and coffee is available for you in the rooms. The food is good and there is allways plenty on your plate.Thankyou once again for a great time.

“Better than average, less than very good...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Lets start with good location, close to the sea and town center, also not too far from bus/train station. Rooms are fair size - CLEAN, but VERY SMALL BATHROOM. Bathroom has only soap, no shampoo nor condtioner - ( bring them with you...lol). Beed shets are good quality and very soft...almost Egyptian Cotton- (had a good sleep). In some rooms you wont get WIFI. I could connect from my room with others hotel (Celebrity) wifi, not from Woodcroft. To use it must go to the lobby or bar area... VERY GOOD BREAKFAST....

One, BIG thing I really didnt like was....I could hear people above my room walkting., spacially late at nigtht. There is wooden floor and it makes a lot of NOISE. Also, you can hear your neighbour flashing water in toilet above you as well.

Staff was friendly, although responding slow to your needs.

Room Tip: take a rom on the top floor

“A Most Pleasant Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

I stumbled across The Woodcroft Hotel after being badly let down by a nearby hotel. At such a late time and, being a little desperate to find a bed for the night, I was relieved to find a hotel with a room. What a surprise it turned out to be. Great staff, good food, nice room, in fact, it was a good ending from a bad beginning. I have told my family how we were welcomed and treated at The Woodcroft and we are planning to return with other family members in 2012. Well done to The Woodcroft and a big "thank you" for everything especially Jane on Reception who helped us with local knowledge of Bournemouth, train and bus timetables and planning our excursions.

“Interesting place...shame about the water”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We stayed for a long weekend when we went to see the absolutely brilliant Lee Evans.

When we arrived by train it was only a 15 minute walk to the hotel. The reception staff were lovely and helpful especially when we had a water problem (I will get to that). The hotel was a bit old fashioned and out of date in decoration, but for a weekend it was fine. The bathroom was a toilet and shower in what looked like an old cupboard and the sink was in the room. The ceilings were nice and high and the bed was really comfortable. There was also a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

The breakfast was lovely and you got plenty of it too. You could have cereal, fruit and or a fry up. The waiters were ok too.

The only problem (which is quite a big one) is the problem with the water. Do not drink from the taps, get bottled water as water only comes out of the taps (in some rooms, it is pot luck apparently) very hot, even from the cold taps it comes out boiling. You had to run the cold tap for about five minutes before you get any cold out. The reception were very apologetic, but basically said we were stuck with it as it had always been like that and there was nothing they could do about it...

Room Tip: It really is pot luck. All the rooms are lovely, if a little old fashioned, but the water is pot lu...
