Just spent an excellent Christmas break at the Burley Court hotel, Bournemouth.
Cannot speak highly enough of the service and the food was of the highest standard.
A family run hotel with staff that could not do enough for us. Will definately visit again.

stayed for a few nights dinner, B & B in August 2011. Could not have chosen better. Very attentive and friendly staff. As I am very particular about food was a little apprehensive about including the dinner as well. No worries All the meals were excellent Could not fault anything and enjoyed the whole experience. Was a little disappointed a few weeks later when I wished to return but the hotel was full.

Staff helpful and friendly and there is a small lift. Our room (14) was overly warm but other members of our group on a higher floor found their rooms very cold and their showers changed from hot to cold without warning. Bedroom floors creaked and fire doors to each floor were noisy to shut even when adhering to notices on them to "close quietly". Our room was shabby although the bed was comfortable but our shower cubicle was in need of a clean, preferably with bleach. The restaurant staff removed a plate as soon as an individual finished their meal instead of waiting until everyone at the table finished. They are very polite but "you're welcome" becomes rather grating following every mealtime exchange by seven people for three days. Gravy was served on the plates but not everyone relishes a plate covered in liquid and would prefer to serve themselves. I chose a fish dish every evening which were all enjoyable but some people picked other dishes and were not overly impressed. Beef Bourguignon on spaghetti was unexpected and vegetables though plentiful were largely overcooked, particularly sprouts but red cabbage was very tasty. Breakfast offered plenty of choice and were on the whole cooked well . Good portions of poached and scrambled eggs on toast but only one halved tomato appeared when tomatoes on toast served. All toast tended to be toasted on one side only and was cold by the time we were ready to eat it (by third morning we had sent so many slices back that they actually got it right). As a group we have been meeting for five years at various seaside locations but this hotel is bottom of our list and we would not choose to return.

We booked this hotel as we were visiting paultons park for the weekend and it was a really nice and hot weekend. It was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, when we first checked in the lady couldnt hardley speak english, this frustrated us, then when we got up to our rooms we were amazed (not in a good way)!!!!! It was like being in the 1970's, it was old, smelley, damp, the decor was horrible and the carpet needs replacing ASAP in the WHOLE hotel. The bathroom was small, dirty and just horrid! The whole room felt dirty i really didnt want to stay in that room it just felt dirty! Downstairs was like an old peoples home, loads of old old chairs, the swimming pool just looked pure discusting!!!!!! The whole hotel needs to be shut down and revamped, its alwful and was a major waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
