“Warm & Friendly”

We stayed 3 nights’ bed, breakfast & evening meal between Christmas & New Year. The most impressive thing about the whole experience was the friendliness of the staff; we were treated like friends as well as guests. The food was excellent and there was evening entertainment provided each night which was of a very high standard. The room was small but comfortable & well equipped. We used the pool twice & although quite small, was very clean & well maintained. The location is ideal for either visiting the shops by foot or going to the beach. All in all I find it hard to find fault, especially at the price.

“Delightful experience in Bournemouth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

I visited Bournemouth and stayed three nights at this hotel which was priced exceptionally well and offered some excellent facilities, including a large dining area, swimming pool, spa and sauna. My single accommodation was excellent with comfortable room and delightful ensuite. The price to stay was very reasonable as compared to hostel accommodation and other hotels in the region. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the towncenter and the bus stop is a short walk which will take you into town or the rail station. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful whilst other hotel staff were always very pleasant and friendly.
The hotel has undergone a significant facelift with further improvement planned so dont expect a five star palace but it is a warm and welcoming hotel. Hot water temperatures during peak usage periods were intermittent when staying on the top floor of the hotel but this is a small inconvenience. Entertainment was provided in the front lounge area which was a nice treat after a long day of playing tourist. The location allows you to do day trips to Winchester, New Forest and other fabulous locations. Without any hesitation I would return to the hotel for a future stay and visit.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms may or may not have intermittent hot water at peak usage periods.

“Good but needs updating”

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel.
We note some reviews have been very critical of the staff and the food but we could not fault either.
Our only criticism is that our room could do with a lick of paint and some new wallpaper.
We were told that rooms are being done whenever it is practical.
Would we go back? Certainly.
Beaches, entertainment and shops all within walking distance.

I would definately recommend this hotel, we can't wait to go back

Room Tip: book the ground floor rooms next to the swimming pool

“Don't bother with this hotel - there are plenty of better ones!”

From the moment we checked in this hotel was a complete joke. The Receptionist had a very weird sense of humour and on more than one occassion was very rude - I shall be contacting the hotel about her directly. The lift can take one person and a bag. Our room was just about large enough to move round the bed but opening the wardrobe door swept anything on the bedside table off it. Getting in the shower was only possible to do sideways on and the grouting and panelling was coming away from the wall.
There is supposed to be a bar and there is indeed a bar but finding anyone to serve you a drink is another matter - we gave up on two occassions and went down the road to a pub instead.
We were kept awake both nights by guests staying at the hotel next door, standing in the car park still at 3am shouting and drinking - it is used for hen and stag parties.
At £100 per night for bed and breakfast there are a lot better places to stay in Bournemouth, I just wish we had booked into one of them instead.
