We've stayed at this hotel at the same time of year for the past 4 years. The staff are very good and always helpful, professional and friendly. The location is great, right on the beach, close to shops and night life.
When we first stayed we had a large room with en-suite bath etc. The building is old and quaint so you need a large room with charm. We always got the same standard room of this size. This year we got what appeared to be a converted single room into double. You couldn't get into the en-suite, there was no bath, the mirror for the dressing table was so high you couldn't use the chair, the fixtures were falling off the walls. I could go on. I did complain but it now appears the hotel want to charge premium rates for what before were regarded as standard rooms.
