“Clean and friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Hotel room was clean and tidy. Had TV with Ipod dock so could listen to music which was good.

Room was a bit old fashioned decor wise and bathroom had no shower but used friends next door so ok. Need to request shower when booking if you want one.

Staff friendly and breakfast good.

“Clean, quiet and a perfect getaway.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Stayed here back in October time for a weekend getaway. The place has lots of character, we got a great price so it was great value for money. Its very quiet for being next to a road and not too far away from the beach and shopping. We stayed for 3 nights, and enjoyed our time here. Only issue was the shower, i struggled to get wet as it only dribbled out. I managed but it wasn't enjoyable, maybe there was bad pressure. I didn't let it bother me as everything else was perfect. Nice view on the beautiful garden, comfy bed and large room. Can't comment on food or drink as we went out for dinner every night. Would stay again :)

Room Tip: Stairs are very creaky so if you are a light sleeper ask for a room on the top floor so you don'...

“Fantastic Wedding Venue!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We got married at The Yenton Hotel at the beginning of September 2011 and honestly couldnt have wanted any more from a venue.

The outside garden made a beautiful setting for our ceremony and really made it that bit more special than a standard hotel wedding. The red carpet was laid out and the little walk around the pond made it slightly unusual which was nice. The kids loved playing in the garden and seeign te pet guinea pigs!

Matt & Thom (the owners) are amazing and really went the extra mile at every stage, right through the plannign process and of course on the day itself. All of the staff were extremely helpful nd polite an most of my guests specifically commented on the exceptionally high standard of service. The food for the sit down meal was simply gorgeous and we later found that they actually use a local butcher who sells them locally reared meat - i think this made a real difference and they should advertise the fact the food is locally sourced a bit more! Even the roast potatoes were delicious and cooking a sit down meal for so many pele isnt easy - it can often be hit and miss, but again all of my guests commented on how beautiful the food was. Evening buffet food was excellent too.

The room we stayed in overlooked the garden where we had been married which was very nice, room was very clean and well presented and they even rememberedmy vase for my bouquet! Excellent attention to detail with refreshments etc in the rooms. A number of my guests stayed at the hotel and all were very happy at the cleanliness, breakfast in the morning etc.

The only thing we recommend if you are planning to get married here is to look at the seating carefully during the sit down meal, because of horseshoe top table and lay out of the roomyou cant see all of your guests - so you have to choose the right people for the right tables.

Everythign about the hotel and the staff made our wedding day perfect, excellent value for money and service all round - cannot recommend enough!

“Good value, comfortable, well located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

This hotel is well located for the sea front and the town centre but in a quiet residential road which makes for a good night's sleep. The bedroom was comfortable and clean, and good value for money compared to other hotels in the town. As well as the full price breakfast menu you can also order individual items, and the conservatory in which breakfast was served is lovely and bright. Service on arrival was very efficient but no-one was to be found on departure (despite ringing the bell and telephone), and throughout my stay I didn't see anyone on the front desk. Instructions to how to get to the hotel on the website are vague but it is at the eastern end of Gervis road, immediately behind the church which forms an island in the road. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

“Looking forward to my next stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

Had a brilliant stay at the Yenton a couple of weeks ago whilst visiting friends with my partner in Bournemouth. We found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful throughout our four night stay. We booked an 'economy' double and sure it wasn't the biggest we've stayed in but hey what do you expect? the room was clean and compact with everything we needed for a short trip and when we asked to use an iron at reception one was brought to the room within a couple of minutes. The bed was so comfortable we nearly slept through breakfast on the first morning but i'm so glad we didn't. Breakfast was cooked to order and was well worth the short wait. Going to book again for mid-November and I am already looking forward to cosying up on the sofa in front of the bar fire with a glass of red.

Room Tip: Overlooking the beautiful gardens
