“find another hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

stayed here for one night, that was enough.you get greeted by a musty, stale smell that gets worse in your room.the room could have done with a bit of a revamp to make it look nice.a good clean would not go a miss, having said that the towels were soft and fluffy and breakfast was lovely.the car park is ok if you don,t mind being blocked in and dont want an early start the next morning

“Good little hotel, excellent location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

I stayed for two nights over a weekend with my husband but I was actually in Bournemouth attending a conference. I wanted a cheap and cheerful hotel close to the BiC and the Safari seemed to tick all of the boxes.

After reading comments on here I did have my reservations and, working in the tourism industry myself for over 20 years I do have high standards - but I was pleasantly surprised.

It certainly isn't a four star hotel, but then it doesn't claim to be. What it is, is a comfortable clean hotel very close to the BiC. The hosts were charming and very helpful and the car park a welcome extra - so too the free WiFi. There was a tv with a dvd attached in the bedrooms which was great as my husband felt too unwell to go out to eat on the first night.

Only gripes were:
The first room we stayed in on the Friday night (Room 4) was quite musty and the bed very uncomfortable. We spoke to the owner at breakfast and were promptly moved to room 14 which was much better. Also, the sausages at breakfast were a bit too pink inside for our liking - but maybe we were a little picky.

If you do stay there is an Italian next door that is TDF! I had the best speghetti carbonara I've had for years.

“DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2010

We stayed here as an extended family for a wedding so we had four rooms. I had read the reviews before i got there and was silently dreading it. A family member was in charge of booking so i didnt really have an input to hotel choice.
Firstly the rooms are out of date cramped and smell, although my sisters had a much better room than us. I cringed each time i walked in to it and was tempted to reorganise another hotel but didnt want to spoil what was a fab weekend away with family.

The location is excellent and there is a fantastic Italian resurant next door, the service there was amazing!!! The shower in the room was mostly cold with the temperature most of the time luke warm and the hotel staff made it quite clear that they were not impressed by me asking them to solve the problem. Would definately go back to visit Bournemouth but to a different hotel, I HAVE LEART A VALUABLE LESSON! :-/

Oh and PS on site parking but like a sardines in a can!

“Great value for money for short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2010

Great hotel for a short stay. A 5-10 minutes walk to the town centre. Rooms basic but clean (lovely soft towels). Excellent breakfast which is included in the room price. Would thoroughly recommend for a short break.

“DONT STAY HERE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2010

The first thing that greeted us was the smell! I was staying here with my two daughters aged 24 and 14, it was a girly weekend going to see Peter Andre in concert. The cost was £75 b&b. The room was very tatty and tired, the shower room had expanding foam everywhere and was grubby, the shower mat was disgusting and going from white to brown! We decided to check in to the Travel Lodge which was just across the road as it was only £59 + £6.50 for eat as much as you like Breakfast KIDS EAT FREE. We got £45 of our money back from the Safari and legged it out of the Hell Hole. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not stay there if you hyave any standards at all. My daughter is also leaving a review with photos, have a look!!
