We have just spent a wonderful Friday/Saturday at the Langtry Manor. Here are a few of our thoughts:
Reception: Made to feel very welcome as soon as we stepped in the door. Friendly, smartly attired staff who were extremely helpful. Our receptionist (one of two at the time) escorted us across to the .......
Gold Cup Room: Wow, a lovely room, exactly as described. Very plush furnishings, nicely decorated. The double jacuzzi is out of this world and really is big enough for two (other hotels describe theirs as a double when they are in fact a large single). One piece of advice we would like to offer is allow plenty of time to fill it (probably a good half hour) but after that you won't want to get out out. Room comes with tea/coffee making facilities and a mini bar. Bathroom immaculate although the very large walk in shower could have done with a tad more water pressure, but maybe that's just us. Very large flat screen TV with dvd player (dvd's are available in reception) plus ipod dock and radio. In the evening we dined in the .....
Restaurant: Wonderful food, wonderful service. We were again made to feel very special. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and the staff presented us with a few extra surprises (no detail here as it may ruin somebody elses surprise if you are visiting). Complimentary champagne before we dined. After dining, we retired to the bar for more drinks whilst relaxing beside the real fire.
Also worthy of a mention is the fact that we stayed during the very cold snap (we woke to minus 10 on the Saturday) but not once did we feel cold within the hotel.
Overall, we were very impressed with the quality and service at this delightful hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody else, particularly if you are looking for a romantic break.
