“return to bournemouth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

My first stay at the Marsham Court Hotel was some 50 years ago, since then we have returned at least 5 times for 3-4 day visits. The front rooms have great views over the bay to old Harry rocks. The rooms I believe are now being refurbished, however at that time they were in need of a coat of paint and new furnishings, the air conditioning in the public areas needed adjustment as warm clothes was necessary even in July. No complaints on the food, enjoyable breakfast and bar meals. I just hope that the official photo's refect the real state of the hotel. A recent stay at the Kensington Close Hotel in London was a catastrophe, the hotel as described was in fact a building site. A stay open policy during renovation works is only interesting for the hotel operator and not at all for the visitor

Dear johnwheeler56,
Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us here in July.
We have now finished our refurbishment of the bedrooms and the foyer. Also we have been refurbishing some of our function suites which are due to be completed in December.
With such a large hotel we are constantly refurbishing in some form or another, as even when one area is complete, it is probably time to start on another area.
The hotel was franchised on the 1st September this year; however the hotel is still owned and operated by the same family and staff.
I look forward to be able to welcome you to the Days hotel in the future.
Kind regards

“Sea view balcony - excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011 via mobile

Just returned from Days Hotel (Marsham Court) after superb stay at this lovely hotel. Room with balcony overlooking Bournemouth bay and pier was superb. Evening hotel meal was excellent quality and value. Modern reception and bar area (refurbishment of other areas underway but that shows progress) Breakfast was very good quality particulary the bacon and sausages. Overall a quality stay at a quality hotel.

Dear Corb77,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We have spent alot of time and effort trying to refurb the hotel over the last 2 years and we still have work to be done. It will be an ongoing process as once we have finished one section we want to start straight away with another. Unfortunately I can't click my fingers.
We are extremely glad that you enjoyed your stay here with us and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
Kind regards

“excellent weekend break!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Sea view room with a balcony well worth the extra! Nice clean room, well furnished, staff and food all very good and reasonably priced. Location excellent, near enough to town and beach with out being noisy!

Room Tip: room 327! (we had 328 which was smaller, but still fine, and our freinds who had 327!) lovely sunny...

Dear Woolstone 2

Thank you very much for your review on trip advisor and I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and will return in the future

I will pass on your comments about the our members of staff who helped you and ensured your stay was enjoyable. All the staff are a credit to the hotel and work extremely hard at ensuring our guests have an enjoyable stay

Our current refurbishment which is creating our new Brasserie Restaurant is due to be finished in mid December. This restaurant will be at the front of the hotel for guests to sit and have breakfast or dinner while enjoying the wonderful views of the sea.

Kind regards

“week-end away”

loved the decor in the Marsham last year - big sofa and chairs in lounge, sadly this year it has been replaced by altra modern hard furnature, very smart and to be fair they are still doing work on the downstairs but hope they have more seating area's when finished. . bedroom was smaller this year and tiny bathroom with shower only. we had balcony room - fabulous views over bay but will request bigger room next year (yes we will return) we had room 327 this year unfortunately the inner door didnt close, the radiators didnt work and the lighting was very poor for evening make up at dressing table, all the staff were lovely and the meals were really good.

Room Tip: higher front rooms have great views

Dear Hywel11

Thank you for your review and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay over all with us, it is always lovely to hear that guests will return to use the hotel again and I am pleased that the group you were with have already agreed dates for next year.

I will pass on your kind comments about our staff as they all work extremely hard to ensure our guests have an enjoyable stay, they are all a credit to the hotel.

In regards to your other comments we will be putting more seating in our Bar & Foyer areas for guests once we have completed our ongoing refurbishment work. (Due to be finished in mid December 2011).

I am sorry to hear about the problems you had with the radiator and the inner bedrooms door, I have spoken with my maintenance department and these issues have been recitified immediately. In future please do tell us straightaway if you have any problems so we can get them recified quickly for you, we do have additional heaters available should guests require them and are available 24 hours a day.

We are reviewing our room lighting and are looking to imporve this in the near future.

We look forward to your return to the Hotel next year and wish you and enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Kind regards
