Wonderful value for a perfect location to visit Totnes and the surrounding countryside. An enjoyable 15 minute walk right into the centre of Totnes, but with the fresh hillside air and fantastic views across the valley, and a large garden to sit and enjoy all this,
Great Court Farm has all the interest and integrity of a working farm, whilst being most efficiently and thoughtfully prepared for guests by Jan Hooper, whose son and husband run the farm. Lovely generous breakfasts, just as one would hope for at a farm, accompanied by Jan's cheery humour, were a great start to the day .
The extra touches like soft bath robes, toiletries in the bathroom and Jan's ever helpful advice and information make this bed and breakfast very special.

We sought a rural B&B with easy access to restaurants and public transport. This met our needs and provided abundant comfort and hospitality in addition. Our room was spacious with a high ceiling that made the room well proportioned and cool in the warm evenings. Although we didn't have an en-suite bathroom, we had a large bathroom to ourselves not far from our room. A bonus was to look out from the bathroom one morning to see a very newly born calf dozing in the field below, twitching its ear occasionally. Janet is a classic B&B hostess with plenty of helpful information for guests both verbal and written. Her breakfasts start with top quality ingredients and are carfeully prepared.
Great Court is right on the edge of Totnes so you can walk out straight into the South Devon countryside. We found it took about 20 minutes to walk down to the town and perhaps 25 to walk back up - it's a good climb! Totnes has a good range of restaurants and pubs. There are reasonably plentiful buses to stops within 5 minutes of the farm. We found the bus routes somewhat confusing but the drivers were very helpful.
It's worth pointing out that Great Court is a working farm, not a hotel. For anyone who enjoys staying on a farm, it is a winner. Those who seek the facilities of metropolitan hotels should look elsewhere. We certainly hope to return and are encouraging our friends and family to stay.

Lovely, quiet B & B on the outskirts of Totnes. Large, clean bedroom and tasty breakfast. Helpful owners. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Janet gave us an extremely friendly and warm welcome, including tea and flapjacks. She had provided everything you could possibly need, including a torch for possible emergencies. Her homemade lemon marmalade was gorgeous and we hope to go back for more!
