Stayed here for 2 nights in early August 2010...Paid £116 for 2 us for the 2 nights which i thought was good value overall. Cant fault the rooms or cleanliness of the hotel, but did feel a little 'young' compared to the rest of the people staying there! (We're aged 34 and 41!) Reading the hotel visitors book, it seems people go back time and time again though, so they must be doing something right... probably the breakfasts which were plentiful and i was very happy to see they catered for veggies like me too!!!
Location was good but do prepare yourself for very steep hills / steps that you need to navigate to get down to the town centre if you want to walk! Doesn't take very long but even at my age, it was a bit of a task at times and would be no good for anyone with problems in the walking department!!! Parking is always a bonus and this place has enough of it for all staying so no worries there... (Street parking on the road is also plentiful should it be needed) Liked the fact they had free wifi too.. Was certainly a bonus for the price we paid!
Probably wouldn't stay here again as would prefere to be nearer into the town centre (walking up and down them hills in heels for a night out is not very practical!) ...but if you just want a base for exploring the Devon area in your car, its ideal. Overall 7/10 for us.
