“Great short break - wonderful hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We missed out on the groupon deal as they had all gone by the time we booked. However, we certainly could not complain at the cost of our four night break.

The house is immaculate, the bedrooms nicely furnished and the bed comfortable. There is a very nice lounge so we used to go out for dinner then come back and relax with a bottle of wine.

Breaksfast was great with lots of sliced fruit, cereals, jam and marmalade and a freshly "cooked to order" breakfast

Barbara and Graham are the perfect hosts and always ready to give you advice on where is good to eat and the general locality. If you like a home from home atmosphere you will not be disappointed.

Another thing worth bearing in mind is it proximity to other areas - for example Dartmoor 30 minutes or so

“Very welcoming!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

It would be difficult to find two more helpful and friendly hosts than Graham and Barbara. We enjoyed a 2-night stay through Groupon and found Graham really welcoming and helpful with information about Torquay. Afternoon tea was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for Barbara who cheerfully adapted the food to our special dietary requirements, thank you Barbara. Breakfast was a delight; there was a good choice, including cooked breakfast, full English or scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, yummy. We particularly enjoyed the variety of fruit on offer, wonderful and healthy! Our room and shower room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. We appreciated the fact that the shower room was a decent size and had a good shelf for our bits and pieces, so often this is not the case and we end up with our toiletries on the floor. Trafalgar House is a beautiful Victorian house and guests are welcome to use the lovely lounge - we relaxed there for a while, reading and 'playing' with the iPad whilst the sun was streaming in through the huge windows. In the morning we walked to the centre of Torquay and harbour in about 25mins and spent the day there but in the evenings we took the car to go to a restaurant as it was so cold, parking cost around £3 for the evening. Our stay was during an exceptionally cold spell with temperatures plummeting to below zero at night so, being a Victorian house with single-glazed sash windows, it did get a bit chilly but Graham kept the heating on all night on the second night, no expense spared! All in all we really enjoyed staying at Trafalgar House and can thoroughly recommend it.

“Great Weekend.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Just spent a wonderful couple of days at Trafalgar House, thoroughly enjoyed it from the moment we arrived. A warm & genuine welcome from Graham, nice room with a very comfortable bed, fabulous breakfast with a good selection, immaculately clean & you can see that a great amount of detail has gone in to the decor & layout.
We walked in to Torquay Harbour both evenings, where the Pubs & Restaurants are & that took about 20-25 minutes, taxi back was just £6.
We would highly recommend staying here & I agree with all the positive comments from other posters.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

My husband booked trafalgar house b&b as a suprise weekend for me.i was not disapointed At all.On arrival graham was there to greet us and to give us some information about torquay, and things to do etc.The room was lovely, very clean and comfy.Next morning Barbara showed us to breakfast. The service provided by Barbara is excellent and so friendly. There are a variety of breakfast options and fruit, yogurts and cereals to help yourself to while waiting on your breakfast to be freshly cooked,by graham which is by far one of the best full English breakfasts I've had in a long time :-).This is the best b&b I have stayed in and we will definatly be visiting again.Thank you graham and Barbara for making us so welcome xxxx Laura and Jay Ingram xxxx

“Sue & Steve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We had a lovely three-night stay through Groupon in January. Graham and Barbara were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the afternoon tea was delicious, including home-made scones and cakes. We can thoroughly recommend it.
