Me and the wife decided on a last minute trip to Torquay and after a lot of debate on which B&B we would stay at we decided to book up at Wilsbrook Guest House. It was the pictures that did it for me as it looked modern compared with the typical B&B image I have of a place full of old people, with old flowery wall paper!
As we drove down Avenue Road we were amazed with how many B&B 's there are! Luckly the Wilsbrook is bright blue so I was able to find it with no problems! Thats your first plus point! On walking into the B&B we met Anne. We was invited into the living room which had a large flat scrren TV, Wii, DVD collection and Freeview along with a tropical fish tank and upto date decor and sofas! Straight away I was happy with the decision! I accepted the much needed drink and Anne was happy to spent a bit of time advising us how to get to the town and beach. (The first beach is a ten minute walk away straight down the road. The town centre is probably about another 5 minutes away, but you won't notice as the sights keep you occupied).
We was shown our room, which was a little on the small side, but that wasn't an issue as we didn't plan on staying in all day and evening. It was modern looking and very clean. It had a kettle on the side along with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk and biscuits.
A flat screen TV with DVD player and freeview was on the wall and Wi-Fi was also available. We was in room number two which was situated at the back of the house. We didn't have any interuptions from traffic etc so each night we did have a good nights sleep. Come morning the breakfast was spot on and gave us a good start for the day. They supply fresh fruit juice, fruit etc etc.
Overall we were very happy with the place and would reccommend this to anyone thinking of a visit!
