excellent hotel. norma and nena made our stay really memorable. the room was fantastic and serviced daily. breakfast was a feast with everything you could want. the english breakfast was superb. can't praise this hotel enough and it is ideally situated with the town a short walk one day and the gardens and the sea a short walk the other way. book this and you won't be disappointed

The hotel was very clean and fresh smelling, the bathrooms are modern and very clean. Decor slightly dated but the cleanliness made up for that. My room was on the small size but was cleaned everyday, I stayed for the three nights. The only downside was that my single room was next to the dining room and there was noise early in the morning from the other Guests.

As a solo traveller I was made to feel very welcome and given a map of the area by the owner Nena, at £20.00 per night including breakfast it was very good value. It was nice to stay at a hotel that obviously prides itself on good standards of hygene and friendliness. Also when checking out the owner Nena noted that I had a lot of bags (I had bought alot of stuff while in Torquay !) And very kindly offered to run me up to the coach station in her car, how nice is that !!!!!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, a very pleasant stay.

This B&B has excellent basic facilities including parking, it is near the town centre, it is very clean and very friendly. The breakfast was particularly enjoyable - and all for a very reasonable price. Wi-fi was a bonus. A couple of friends had a special dietary requirements: one was a vegan and one on a gluten-free diet. They were both catered for but we had to request their breakfasts beforehand.

My husband and I spent a week at Ashurst Lodge and we found that the owners, Norman and Nena, were extremely friendly and they were prepared to go out of their way to provide us with information on things to do in Torquay. We were very happy with the room as it was well presented and the bathroom was spotless. Every morning we went to breakfast and there was a good selection of yoghurt, cereal and fruit alongside the english breakfast.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend as it is in a perfect location with the town centre and beach only a short walk away. It is great value for money and we will almost certainly be returning next year!
