Abingdon House is one of the most hospitable places I have ever stayed, for a very long time you where made at home from the second you went in Betty and Robert are excellent professional hosts. Breakfast is freshly cooked and there is also a choice of cereals and homemade fresh fruit salad and the jam home made better than you would get from any shop
Robert and Betty is the perfect hosts my wife and hope to return to Abingdon in the near future thank you both for a perfect few day

Thankyou for a wonderful stay at Abingdon house. Made extremely welcome and greeted on arrival with fresh scones and cream tea. Breakfast was amazing also with fresh melon which was a nice extra. The hosts were extremely friendly and nonintrusive and they even cleaned the car and said it was all part of the service. If we're in Torquay again we'll definitely stay there again. We booked Abingdon House for the weekend of 11 March to attend a family birthday, we were greeted by Robert who made us feel welcome before we even stepped through the door. Robert was definately the entertainer which made it for my husband and brother in law. We were given the en suite on the ground floor and even though it was on the main road you could not hear the traffic. Betty cooked the breakfast and that was absolutely lovely. I would definately use this guest house when we visit family again. The house had its own guest lounge where you could talk to other guests that were in.

On our recent long weekend in Torquay we stayed at the Abingdon House Avenue Road. On arrival we were greeted by Betty and Robert Macdonald and made wecolme as if we were family, there was a pot of tea and a piece of cake still warm from the oven, everthing is home made even the jam and marmalade. The hospitality here is second to none.
Being disabled we stayed in their ground floor room with its own wet room en-suite.
Robert even cleened our car for us while we enjoyed our tea and cake.
Betty's cooked breakfast is superb.
