If you are thinking about having a wonderful holiday in Torquay, this is NOT the hotel you should stay at, From the Manager to the Cleaner, they are rude, take NO notice of Guests and the rooms are untidy and not well kept. I stayed for one week in this hotel in September 2011 and it was the worst week ever. If this hotel closed down it would not be soon enough. BE WISE - DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR A LONG TIME AFTERWARDS AND THERE ARE GREAT HOTELS IN TORQUAY AND ALL JUST OVER THE ROOM

An absolute bargain! Nice food, great atmosphere and the show was outstanding. The rooms were a little tired but had everything you needed and for the price of £30, whats to complain about. The hotel staff by the way couldnt have been more helpful.

We have spent two weekends at the Rainbow and have had a really great time!

OK dont expect too much & youll be pleasantly suprised!
We stayed for new year, 3 nights including travel for £159 each half board so I really dont think you can grumble at that!

Hotel itself is a little tired but I liked it! The xmas decs were outstanding & someone had gone to an awful lot of effort, it was very much appreciated so thank you..:) Our room was tired but clean fab view in room 504 fortunately we were on the top floor but the squeeky floor boards could drive you crackers in a lower floor Im guessing. Please please change the mattresses they were the only thing I felt let it down even for the low cost. Thankfully that view made me smile every time I looked out of the window.

Food in the evenings was surprisingly good plenty of choice with great staff but not quite as good at breakfast in my opinion.

My only gripe really was the bar staff/drinks, we were always charged different prices for the same drinks, drinks were warm & staff just werent listening etc etc. Trust me the staff everywhere else in the hotel are just great!! It didnt ruin the break we just drank else where!

Location is about 3 mins walking from the sea front & about 15 mins walking from the centre of town.

I would stay again for a cheap break, it had a nice feel to it, maybe we were lucky or didnt have too high expectations?! Ive stayed in much worse places for triple prices, we had a fab new year we will always remember :)
