very nice place to stay, very welcoming, lovely breakfast, every need catered for, so hot at night time could have done with a fan.

Having just returned from a three night stay at The Brandize, i thought i should comment on a most enjoyable break.
Upon arrival we were greeted by our host Garee,who gave us a quick tour round and showed us to our room.There was plenty of off road parking,which is a nice bonus.
The rooms are comfortable,well appointed and clean.Tv, tea and coffee making facilites, clock radio, hairdryer etc.
Bathrooms clean and roomy which makes a nice change.
Breakfast was an enjoyable affair,you make your selection the night before,stating your desired time and choice for your breakfast,then leave your selection sheet on the reception desk.We found this to be very practical,it ensured you got what you want and when you wanted it and offered a good choice.
Garee was always on hand for a chat or to give advice on attractions and local eating houses.
All in all a very enjoyable stay,would we stay here again? Yes no problem.
Would have given it more than 5 but that was the highest score we could give.

My husband and I stayed at the Brandize in Avenue Road, Torquay for two nights in the family room. Ann and Garee are entirely hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean, tidy and spacious - a must for families with young children. Thank you.

We were not sure what to expect when we arrived at The Brandize, having booked through the counterpoints system where we paid for breakfast and dinner but not accommodation. Knowing how fussy my husband can be about food I was a little concerned. I needn't have worried. We received a very warm welcome from Garee and were shown to a clean and comfortable (although a little small) room. Yes we did have to pre-order food, but surely this makes sense for a small business? There was plenty of choice for breakfast and 3 choices of each course for our evening meal - easily enough to find something everyone liked. The food was well cooked and portions plentiful. Over the six nights we stayed, there was a good variety not constant repetition like we have found in some guest houses.
Garee and Ann were excellent hosts , friendly and cheerful and going out of their way to make our stay a pleasant and relaxing holiday. My only slight negative was the room size but it was more than compensated by being on the ground floor. I would recommend the Brandize to anyone particularly if you dont want the annonimity of a large hotel or want a home from home atmosphere. We had a great time - thanks Ann and Garee - we shall see you again !
