“Christmas at the Glenross”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We have just spent a lovely Christmas here. It is well placed, welcoming and comfortable. The family could not have done more to make sure we all had a memorable Christmas. The food was delectable - and plentiful ! and splendid and varied entertainment was laid on each evening. The guests very quickly became one house party and extra trouble was taken to provide for unexpected contingencies. Sadly illness caused us to sacrifice two nights but our departure was made easier by the amount of help we had in loading the car and the many good wishes. The icing on the cake is their charming and very poised 14 year-old daughter who will be a great hostess one day. The fact that so many guests were old hands indicates the quality and warmth of the Glenross.

Just a Quickey to you both(Andrew & Janet) to say many thanks for a fabulous stay at the
"Glenross".Good food and good company being the secret. Some hosts seem to be "in your
face"as it were, but you seem to have the nack of not being so,but being there when
needed.Cannot say anything about the food other than excellent, really enjoyable.Once
again many thanks.

Best wishes -------- Don and Judy

“Fantastic”

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Glenross. Wow, what lovely hosts. When we arrived we were greeted by Janet who asked if we'd had a good journey which I always think is nice since we had travelled several hours to get there. We had a very nice spacious room at the rear with side window. The ensuite had a nice bath with shower over. This is a nice friendly place. We decided to have the evening meal option each night . Well what can we say for a three course meal at £12.50 each I don't know how they can do it for that . The food was superb, breakfast and dinner were always piping hot and nicely presented, very good portions too.
Andrew the owner did the cooking but was always visible in the kitchen and came out several times to chat to the guests.
The menu for the evening meal was given out at breakfast and your choice given then for that evening, Most guests stayed in for the evening meal, which probably gives a clear indication how good the food is.
We noted that a lot of the guests who were in at the same time as ourselves had been going year in year out. So I would say if you are thinking of staying at the Glenross do not hesitate. for the inclusive price B,B&EM you would find it hard to beat.
On leaving Andrew and Janet spent time in thanking us for choosing them for our visit to Torquay. Would we stay again, definately if we were in the area again.Thank you both for a lovely holiday.
