We arrived and was shown to our room straight away. On the Wednesday we decided as it was raining that a bus trip was the answer as the weather wasn't that good. Later that day my husband was taken seriously ill. The hotel staff made sure that I was okay at all times, they enqired after my hubby each time they saw me. They very quickly made sure I had accomodation from my check-out day incase he was still hospitalized. NOTHING was too much trouble for them. I haven't done the sleep quailty as with what happened I did't get much sleep. We have booked again for next year.

This was the hotel for my hen night, it was booked four months in advance and we were promised all 8 terrace room as there was 15 of us - this didn't happen we had 5 rooms on the terrace and others were just dumped anywhere round the hotel not even close by. We also booked a spa day for 17 this was cancelled by the hotel on the Saturday we checked in, it was due to happen on the Sunday. But they had known for at least a week that they were not going to honour the comitment - if they told us we could have booked elsewhere, they offered us a complimentary salad lunch on the Sunday and 2 bottles of cheap cava. Torquay is my home town and this used to be one of the best hotel's in the bay it's a disgrace it's been allowed to get in the state its in! The views are stunning but that's about all that can be said on the bright side, I feel realy sorry for what few staff there are working there because you can see that some of them (the one we nicknamed Manuel, who does everything bar, resturant, reception) really do try hard to make the guests experience pleasurable but to be honest he didn't have alot to work with. I wouldn't reccomend this hotel to anyone and it's sorry state sums up all that is wrong with Torquay. At £70 per room bed and breakfast we would have been better off in the premier inn on Torquay seafront!! Go to Torquay don't stay here!!!!

Stayed for one night, thankgod for a hen night. Very run down, smelt damp, dirty public areas, our room was awful, it smelt bad and had a view of a wall a foot away with plastic flowers on it! No mobile reception, tv didnt work, headboard stained yellow. Fortunately we didnt have to spend much time in the room or hotel, otherwise we would of found somewhere else to stay. This hotel needs a total refurbishment.

Considering that this was the cheapest hotel in Torquay, I would say that we definitely got our money worth’s. We used the pool, sauna and Jacuzzi facilities, which were all included in the price, which I thought was very good as I thought it would cost extra. All three facilities were clean and were even provided with swim towels; however the Jacuzzi room could have done with some decorating.

Our room was very spacious and pleasant with an amazing view. However, I do fault the room for the following reasons:
1) The bath panel was falling off
2) The carpet looked fairly dirty
3) The walls were very thin, we were able to hear everything going on in the room next door as well as upstairs.

Other than these faults about the room though, our stay was very pleasant. I could not fault the staff one bit, the staff were the friendliest hotel staff I have ever come across, especially the leisure/gym receptionist! Breakfast was nice, not amazing, but I would not expect it to be at the price we paid.

Overall, if you are looking for a pleasant/basic stay in Torquay, I would definitely recommend this hotel. If you are looking for a place to stay for a high class holiday, then I would probably say that this hotel is not for you.
