“Good Basic Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

In good position near sea front, hotel has stairs and a small lift, clean towels, sheets, clean beds good food. Very Warm rooms, Don't believe the T.V. version of the Hotel on Sunday nights it is made to look like Fawlty Towers and it is NOT!! the three hotels owned by Mark are good basic hotels, and quite well run, In the last three months i have been on a coach trip to the three hotels
number one would be the Grosvenor, then the Inglewood then the kistor but i would go back to any one

Room Tip: 11 to24 are on the ground floor

“Average Hotel with Well Above Average Staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Hotel is a bit dated with mismatched and old furniture, however, it is kept clean and our room was comfortable. Was a bit concerned when I saw the bright blue bathroom suite with cast iron bath, especially when the water trickled very weakly from the handbasin but the shower over the bath was really powerful and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel was lovely and warm all through the day and night so much so that it was a shock to walk along the nearby sea front and freeze in the cold January wind.

The food was very good, pleased to be able to have porridge for breakfast. The cooked breakfast was very nice but I prefered to have poached eggs on toast and they were perfectly cooked. Evening meals were three course, very little choice but what we had was tasty and acceptable - we were amazed at the size of the Yorkshire puds.

For entertainment we had a different singer each night and, of course, Bingo. The bar is small with no 'local' beer but the service was excellent and the prices reasonable for an hotel.

All the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them.

We were a family group of seventeen wih ages from 14 to 70 and this hotel suited every one of us. We travelled with Leisuretime (Cardiff) Coaches and had an excellent holiday at an extremely good price. Will certainly be looking forward to visiting the Inglewood again.

“Ideal hotel for pensioners but not for young holiday makers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Im a vocal entertainer and I stayed at this hotel while gigging in Torquay. The hotel staff are brilliant and very friendly and they will go out the way to help you. This place is more ideal for pensioners I say this because my wifes Nan and Grandad go here every year and her nan is 80 years old and her grandad is 80 soon and they love the place. But pensioners love the place all in all anyway . The Entertainment is not the best but at least you still have entertainment and Bingo.Rooms are not to bad and they are cleaned daily and the beds are comfy so thats half the battle. I would stop here again if i want a relaxed holiday as it is a relaxed place. The pool area could do with a revamp as it don't look anything like what you see in a brochure. The hotel is in desperate need of a revamp, Not a negative review from me but it is a average place for young people,If your a OAP and you would like a relaxed holiday then this is for you. Food Ok here as well.

“very enjoyable weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

I.ve just returned from a tremendous value-for-money short weekend at The Inglewood courtesy of Leisuretime (Cardiff). The total cost was £59 for 3 days (2 nights B & B and evening meals, coach travel and an excursion to Plymouth thrown in!). My single room was comfortable with a spacious bathroom area and the usual tea/coffee making facilities, my only minor gripe was the old-style tempremental tv with no Freeview channels available. The breakfasts were quite adequate and the evening meals vvery tasty and well cooked. The waiting staff were friendly and very efficient with no long waits between courses. Bar prices were the norm whilst the cabaret was a few notches up on what one usually hears in these type of hotels. I've travelled extensively with Leisuretime over the last 4 years and most of my trips have been very enjoyable but tis one was remarkably good for such a modest cost and I'd certainly return to The Inglewood again. By the way, ths hotel and the Kistor is owned by Mark of The Gosvenor fame (see the hilarious Channel 4 doc, The Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 10 was more than adequate for my needs

“turkey and tinsel break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Visited hotel as part of a 5 day coach trip on a half board basis Several coach parties in the hotel Very warm all the time heating good no complaints about being cold.Food good plenty of choice although parts of the dining room dark Bedroom we had needed a change of mattress Springs felt as if they were coming through Walk in shower room en suite. hospitality tray and hairdryer provided Evening entertainment average and last night was a party night, Many people staying here are repeat bookers. Hotel could do with a bit of money spending on it but otherwise ok for what we paid Only downside is the amount of smokers who have to congregate outside the entrance door

Room Tip: ask for a higher floor
