we had nice room staff in lounge for coffee were good and helpful, room lovely clean and lovely view, resturant disappointing, first breakfast cold half hour to heat u, next breakfast egg on toast with my crusts cut off but did not ask for. next breakfast just ceral and toast, porridge ordered still waiting, xmas dinner asked for no cranberry sauce so we had dry dinner as no gravy came, was allowed 1 boiled potato with skin, 1 roast potato 4 flat beans 4 sprouts that was xmas dinner, asked for white roll with soup had 2 brown ones half way through soup. will not go again very disappointed spolit our xmas paid over £1000 for both of us not worth the money shame as hotel was okay.

We had not visited for some time but were not disappointed. Welcomed as though we had never been away. Restaurant food was superb - excellent choice and top-notch service. Terrific value for money

My husband and I recently spent a two night spur of the moment break at this hotel. We had stayed at their other hotels and were sent a e mail ablout a special offer, and needing somewhere to do some Christmas shopping outside Cornwall where we live, he phoned and we were there the next day. It is in a great seafront location. We were able to leave our car there and walk into town. For November, the weather was surprisingly mild and sea very calm. The hotel food was excellent, with good old-fashioned silver service and a standard of civility rare in many hotels these days. We stayed in a small double room but next time we will ask for a twin room as we believe there is more space in them. The evening dinners were excellent with a good menu choice. It is the sort of hotel where we can enjoy the ambiance and friendliness of the staff without them being over-powering. As we run our own self-catering 5 star business in Cornwall our expectations of service are high and this hotel did not let us down. On the way home we drove across Dartmoor on a beautiful sunny day and stopped at the Craft Centre in Princetown which is well worth a visit for it local paintings and craft work which is all on sale.
