“FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Well what can we say that would be good enough for this hotel, the staff were brilliant they were helpful over and above the call of duty, they SMILED ALL THE TIME, service was beyond superb and food to match, the rooms were lovely and the public areas comfortable and warm.a real quintesential english hotel for that brilliant break it didnt matter we were only 7 miles from home we could have been milllions we were so relaxed and looked after. my only small critisism was the pool was a little cold but warmed up with a sauna afterwards. thanks everyone for making our break so wonderful and hope to repeat again.

Room Tip: garden veiw rooms are spectacular

“Great for a break !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My husband & I booked this hotel for a short break away from London. Overall this hotel was great, warm friendly staff, good food, very clean & excellent value - we were able to take advantage of one of their offers which was a three night break for the price of two! Do not normally take the time to write reviews but this hotel was very good so deserves the recognition.
The only 'negatives' for us were that drinks in our opinion were a little pricey & our room, whilst big was furnished with white wardrobes & drawers not really in keeping with the age & style of the building which was beautiful & a television so small we could barely see it from the bed! However we did not let these 'small niggles' detract from the overall experience. It was good value.

“What a treat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

First time at the Palace, attending for a conference. Terrific staff, good refreshments water and squash refreshed constantly, together with clean glasses. Coffee and tea served with home made cookies and lovely warm lemony buns.
Very nice room overlooking the gardens, spotlessly clean, lovely big bath towels, good toiletries if required.
Food and service in the dining room was excellent, over four nights not one item duplicated.
Staff were marvellous, and long standing.
I could not fault it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gardens, lovely relaxing view even in the cold weather.

“A wonderful traditional hotel”

A wonderful traditional hotel. Set in over 20 acres. 9 hole golf course, tennis, snooker, putting etcetra its all here. The food choice just gets better and better. Their special offers are very good value. We had a suite overlooking the gardens and golf course. Its spacious bedroom and large sitting room was excellent. The majority of guests have stayed before. Friendly staff together with spacious lounges make this hotel special.

Room Tip: garden facing suites are quite and sunny

“Christmas Day Lunch - Unbeatable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I visited with my whole family for Christmas Day lunch this year. We live close to The Palace so obviously can't comment on the accommodation but as far as the 'meal experience' was concerned it was unbeatable, absolutely fantastic. The staff were very accommodating and eating in the main dining room is a lovely experience. Not only is the scale and grandeur of the room impressive, but combine this with attentive staff and fabulous food and this makes for a great combination. We were all made to feel very welcome, even the children!, and the fillet steak was the best I have ever tasted, like velvet. The drinks are a little pricey but the ambience of the public areas and attentive staf more than make up for this. Highly recommended for dining and relaxing.
