Booked this hotel online, cost just £33 for one night.
The location of the hotel is very good, right next to Bretonside bus station and only 10 minute walk from the railway station. If you're intending to drive to Plymouth I suggest to use one of the many Park and Ride systems just off the A38 as Plymouth is a nightmare to drive through and park! For Plymouth I usually park by Newton Abbot rail station (free) and the train costs just £4 return.
Right outside the entrance to the hotel was some dog mess, so not off to a good start!
Check in was simple, and finding the room was easy. I was given room 613, it was very clean, large size, and in good condition. The TV had many channels, was warm and had air conditioning, and the bathroom was generally very good.
My room was overlooking the main road but I heard no noise from the traffic, the windows are bulky and keep the cold and sound out.
However, there are some small problems with the hotel that is annoying.
There is quite a lot of noise from other guests. At 6am I was woken by people running up and down the corridor shouting "Alex" many times until another guest told them to shut up.
One lift goes upto the third floor, and one lift does not work at all, leaving just the one lift. Bit of a problem when it has to travel 6 floors and carry loads of guests. So prepare to use the stairs! The ice machine produced ice and water but threw it out on the side so you would only get a dribble in the cup.
I dont think this Jurys Inn is as good as the one in Exeter, but for the price I can not grumble, I would stay again.
