“Friendly, clean, great price, welcolming, and great nights sleep”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

We went with our two teenage children in the family room. The receptionist was so welcolming when we arrived, even directing us in when we got lost. The Imperial is easy to find, we were just not clever about getting there. She then reserved us a car parking space. The room was fantasrtic with the kids having their own serperat room, at a great price. Great coffee tray, with anything you could want in the bathroom. Filling breakfast, included in the price, and cheerful goodbye. Our rooms decorations -wallpaper, curtains etc were exceptionally well suited to the room. Could not fault either the staff, guest house, nights leep or stay over all. Well done the Imperial, look forward to our next stay.

“One of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

Stayed at the Imperial overnight to settle son into Uni. The location of the Imperial is excellent, just down the road from The Hoe, and within walking distance of the centre. The building is impressive, and off road parking is an added bonus. We were warmly met by Jared, with a very smooth, professional and informative check in, he showed us to our room (#10). The room was spotless, modern, superb bathroom with excellent power shower, toiletries &hairdryer, this is certainly the future of 5* B & B. Every wish is catered for here, with a very informative file, the exceptionally friendly and professional staff will do all they can to make your stay the very best . We had an excellent night's sleep, even given the trauma of having to leave my son to his own devices at uni. There is a very comfortable bar and lounge area, open until 10pm. Breakfast at weekends is open until 9.30am and there is a splendid choice, catering to all tastes, set in an elegant dining room, with attentive staff, all wearing uniform. Then just a little niggle, why oh why would such a superb establishment present you with sachets of sauce and mustard?? Sorry, pet hate of mine, such a let down. Beautiful cutlery and crockery, little pots of butter and jam, superb locally sourced produce...and then you fight like a demon to produce less than half a teaspoon of mustard from a plastic sachet, my heart sank. Having said that, and I did put it on my feedback form, I cannot fault the Imperial, and hope to spend many a happy time there whilst visiting my son. This is certainly a B&B fighting well above its' weight and is well deserving of its' rating. Thank you Richard and Linda.

“Spotless Accomodation,Great Location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2010

Stayed in room 21 on the top floor for two nights. The room was very clean with everything you need including a balcony that gave a nice view over the city, gardens and part of the hoe.The staff are very friendly, parking is free and right outside. The bed in my room was very comfy, but rather small double rather than the King size we are used to. This is not the fault of the hotel as they did not have my 1st choice of twin rooms available, and room 21 would not fit a king size. My request for a desk fan was met in advance with no problems. This hotel is a real treat. We would recommend it.

“Better than you first imagine”

This was our first stopoff on a weeks tour of Devon and Cornwall. We stayed 2 nights.

At first it appears quite ordinary but somehow you realise the quality and diligence of the staff. The manager when we arrived on the front desk (I think his name is steve) was very friendly, and showed us to our room (18).

Then when we had breakfast the owner was around and what struck me was the urgency and professionalism.... hard to detect but I could tell they took things seriously and wanted to do things the right way and serve correctly.

A very good location too for the shops and coast. If I had one compliant our room was a little tired.
