“A home from home”

After staying at a number of mediocre hotels around Plymouth, we finally found a friendly welcome at the Invicta. With clean and tidy rooms (with free wifi), a good breakfast, and at a reasonable price, I would not hesitate to recommend it. The Invicta shows the value of picking a family owned hotel ahead of a faceless chain. Roy's sea bass is excellent as well!

“The best hotel in Plymouth!”

Having stayed in a number of hotels in Plymouth while travelling with work, I can honestly say the Invicta is my favourite. I've stayed here with colleagues on various trips to the city. The staff and helpful and friendly, the rooms are decorated and maintained to a high standard and the food is very good indeed (especially the steak!). Off road parking and fast wireless internet access are provided free of charge, and the location is superb for getting out and about in the city. If you are tired of boring soulless corporate hotels, give this one a try and you won't be dissapointed!

“What a lovely place to stay”

We booked for one night - New Years Eve - as we where meeting friends for dinner in Plymouth. What a great place to stay! Staf where attentive and friendly and gave us a map so we could go for a walk and find various places. The room was superb - we where offered an upgrade to a first floor room as there is no lift in this listed building. The room was superb, very spacious, huge bed and spa bath too. Free parking at the hotel itself was a big bonus as was the fact that the room was quiet. Excellent breakfast served in the dining room. Overall highly recommend and looking forward to staying there again soon. Ideal location for shopping or siteseeing in Plymouth, just a 10 minute stroll across the Hoe to the Barbican.

Room Tip: Hotel has no lift so very worth while asking for a first floor room at a minimal upgrade charge.

“A Brief Stay”

My wife and I paid a visit to Plymouth on Friday to see the Cinderella pantomime at the Theatre Royal. As we are in our eighties we didn't wish to return home to Cornwall after the evening performance.and were fortunate in deciding to stay overnight at the Invicta Hotel, which has it's own car parking area .The staff ( all family ) warmly welcomed us on our arrival and nothing was too much trouble for them.We had a ground floor family room which was nicely appointed, clean and the beds were very comfortable.Breakfast was excellent with a comprehensive selection. We had a most enjoyable one night stay and will be returning again this year John Cornwall

Room Tip: Ground or first floor important if you are elderly

“Good location.”

Stayed at the Invicta with the wife for the first time. Good location for Drakes Circus and City centre shopping. Room was small for a double, occasionally falling over each other. Good value for the money involved. Breakfast was good and always served with a smile. Not sure how often the beer pumps are used as they had to draw off at least 4 pints to get a decent one. Free parking as well.
