“Great for Coast Path and other Walkers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Southcliffe. From a walkers perspective the location is ideal - bus stop to points further along path outside, good drying facilities, lot of maps and guidebooks in the lounge etc. Vey friendly and informative hosts, Very clean and great breakfast with plenty of choice. Good value at the price. I would also recommend the nearby Shelduck for a good value carvery and good beer. Lynton itself is a very pleasant stop-off.

“Super Southcliffe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We have been holidaying at Lynton for a number of years, having stayed at two B & Bs during that time. We decided to change our B & B as the previous owners had sold it. Having looked at Southcliffe's web site and read their blog we felt that Southcliffe would be very suitable.
We were not disappointed! We received a warm and very friendly welcome from Andy, and a cup of tea and a slice of delicious home-made ginger cake.
Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and everything we needed was at hand, including extras of a daily mint chocolate and a bottle of spring water. The breakfast was delicious, ably cooked by Andy and served by Sue. There was a wide choice which could be adapted to your own wishes. Sue makes her own marmalade and granola which are both superb. On the reverse side of the menu was a list of the sources of the various components of the breakfast, most of them as local as possible.
Sue and Andy are always ready to suggest walks or places to visit - they even have a few typed out for visitors to use. They enjoy walking themselves and occasionally try out new ones which may be of interest to guests.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at Southcliffe and would not hesitate to recommend it. Needless to say we fully intend to return.

Just spent a long weekend at Southcliffe. Andy & Sue are excellent hosts. Very friendly & helpful - from walks to driving tours their advice was invaluable. Southcliffe is very clean & the breakfasts are superb. Nothing is too much trouble & we thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Recommended to one & all.

“Book this B & B Now!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

We have just returned from a short break (2 nights) at Southcliffe and were very impressed with every aspect of our visit. From our initial phone call to our farewells we couldn't have asked for better or friendlier service. Sue and Andy are very good at making everyone feel at ease while providing a first class service. Rooms are very clean and bright, the breakfast menu is extensive and flexible and of course delicious, with locally sourced produce inc.home made granola and marmalade. We look forward to returning next year.
