“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

A lovely house, full of character, with a charming front garden. We were made very welcome by Jean Paul and Lin and being a small hotel, we soon got to know our fellow guests. Our room was spotless and the food fantastic. It would have been good to stay long enough to work our way through the menu! If you're thinking of staying in the Lynton area, perhaps as a base for sightseeing or walking the coast path, look no further!

“Good - but”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2010

Charming Building, but I think some of the other reviewers have been a bit over enthusiastic. Feels in many ways like being a guest in someone else's home, but a home where the hosts do things their way- and do it very well- but without too much regard for their guests wishes. For instance, I feel that if a guest asks for a boiled egg for breakfast they should not be refused. Perhaps the option of a continental type breakfast would also be appreciated
The evening meal although very good was rather overpriced and tended to be a triumph of style over substance. However obviously many people would disagree with my comment s about the food so I hope they will be considered constructive by the proprietors.
If the St Vincent House is full for evening meal the Vanilla Pod, just a few yards away, is a very pleasant alternative, and where they are prepared to adapt their menu to individual wishes.
Your chances of car parking at the house are remote, although there is a public carpark nearby, pay between 10.00 and 18.00 hours. You ask if I would recomend this hotel to a friend - the answer is yes with the above reservations

“Comfortable, relaxing, welcoming and wonderful food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

We have stayed a number of times and try to find a couple of days at least to unwind and indluge every year in this wonderful small hotel. . The success of St Vincent is entirely due to the owners Lin and Jean-Paul whose attention to detail, friendly welcome and supberb food make this a very special place.

“Wonderful atmosphere and gorgeous food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

I have been to St Vincents twice but only just got around to writing a review...quite simply, I love it! I first went with my boyfriend in 2008 for his birthday, and we loved it so much we took my parents back for their wedding anniversary last October...and we are planning another visit this year!
The house is gorgeous - elegant and comfortable. The little touches are wonderful - we loved having a welcoming glass of sherry in our room! Lin and Jean Paul are wonderful hosts - charming, at ease and welcoming.
And the food - best B&B breakfast ever? And definitely book for dinner - delicious special food (we are real foodies) and a great atmosphere, including pre-dinner drinks in the living room.
Can't wait to go back!

“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

What a great part of Britain to visit and St Vincents is "The" place to stay and eat.
This is truly a special place with owners that enjoy what they are doing and where they live ,you feel at home from the moment you enter the garden and then the house.
There are 5 rooms all with En Suite and well finished ,nice touch of 2 glasses of sherry in your room when arriving starts the St Vincent experience.
Jean Paul is a very good Belgian chef and really enjoys sharing his talents with his breakfasts and dinner ,Lin is the perfect hostess.
Just make sure you book dinner ahead ,as it is a worthwhile experience if you enjoy good food in an intimate setting (5 tables) ,We had a table for 4 and everyone tasted something different and loved it.
We will return ,I just hope we can get in ,as this is a great place to stay.
Thank you Jean Paul and Lin ,you made our trip memorable.
