“Charming place and owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

We were welcomed by Daphne and Peter with free upgrade offer and warm open fire place. We had such a good time there - despite bad weather, we enjoyed fantastic home made ice cream, fire place, very good breakfasts and dinners! This is perfect place for winter and summer breaks! Lynton and Lynmouth are cosy, victorian towns, surrounded by gorgeous hills and sea.
We would go back.

Room Tip: top rooms (Victory and Irresistible) are cosy but very low ceiling. Also a bit of noise at night (ma...

“Very welcoming and friendly.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

We booked here for our honeymoon and found that subsequently it had new owners; daphne and Peter. Well we needn't have worried. They are still finding their feet I think but we were very impressed. They were very welcoming and friendly. Very nice room and good breakfasts and you could pick and choose your favourite ingredients and have it cooked to your liking!
We would definately stay here again and we wish them all the best for the future.

“Comfortable, character home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

Great location just off the main street yet still feels secluded and quiet in the garden. House with lots of period features and lovely clean and well appointed rooms with comfortable beds, some freshly decorated. Real family welcome from the new owners with a real personal touch. A superb base for exploring Exmoor and the coast

“Beautiful house and wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2011

The St Vincents is a beautifully kept house with clean, smart rooms, a lovely lounge and great breakfast not to mention the delightful couple who run it.
We stayed in one of the top floor rooms for the weekend, the room was very clean, well decorated and very comfortable. Downstairs the couple have a lovely communal lounge full of local books, games and even a fridge with foreign beers for guests if you wish, a lovely touch. There is also a garden at the front which we sat in for a pre dinner drink which is lovely. It is a very quiet spot so this made it even better.
The breakfast menu is superb with literally everything for everyone, fruit, cereal, nuts, fruit compote, full english, new york bagel breakfast, eggs benedict and vegetarian, real effort being made to keep it top end.
Would I return, most definately and with friends also.

Room Tip: The top floor rooms are lovely but the first floo.

“Just wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

This was our second stay at St Vincent House. Jean-Paul and Lin are very welcoming, the rooms are clean, beautifully appointed and really comfortable. Breakfasts are outstanding with top quality ingredients. The house itself is elegant and has a real sense of history about it, the service is lovely, personal and unobtrusive. Can't suggest any improvements at all, though it was a bit of a sadness that Jean-Paul and Lin are no longer providing evening meals (they were fantastic). However their recommendations for local dining (The Oak Room in Lynton and the restaurant in the Rising Sun in Lynmouth) were excellent. So in short, absolutely tip top!
