“Lucky find!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

Booked very late (night before). Lovely room with beautiful view. Very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast very tasty and good choice. Had a lovely stay for 3 nights and certainly would stay there again and recommend. My only slight gripe would be that the single bed was a "put you up" and not very comfortable with a thin mattress for my daughter (an adult)
Every other thing was great. Evening meals were offered - we did not partake but the menu looked tempting.

“'English Hospitality at its Best'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2010

Just spent 5 nights at Ingleside and had a wonderful experience. Everything about the house has been tastefully done, you immediately get the feeling you are in, what it probably started life as, a beautiful 'Gentlemans Residence' with lots of character.
The food is first class from the breakfast to the evening meal, if taken. We had dinner on three nights and found the choice and quality excellent.
Diana and Keith are a charming couple who certainly make you very welcome.
The only thing, about Ingleside, that is not 5 star is the price.
We will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.
The area has so much to offer you need more that a week to take it all in.

“A good base for North Devon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

We spent 3 nights at Ingleside, thus qualifying for the 5% discount. We had the Lynton room, which is a bit more expensive, but has a spacious sitting area with two very comfortable armchairs and also a balcony with views over Lynton and to Summerhouse Hill. The furnishings and decor were in first class condition. The bathroom was rather small - particularly the shower cubicle - and internal so no natural light in it. The welcome and service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was freshly cooked and to a high quality. An evening meal is also offered Sun - Friday inclusive, which was good value and popular with the guests, though Lynton has a reasonable choice of restaurants (we can recommend the Vanilla Pod) which are all only a few minutes walk from Ingleside which is centrally located, but being on a private road does not suffer traffic noise. It also has it's own parking for all guests, not universal in Lynton/Lynmouth.

There is a good sized residents' lounge with a jigsaw on the go at all times and a really good selection of books - fiction, books about the local area and a quite a few local maps, walking guides etc. Ingleside does not have a drinks licence, but if you dine there in the evening you can bring your own drinks and they will provide glasses for you.

All in all, a lot of hotel type features, but at B&B prices with friendly service and an excellent location.

We would happily stay there again if visiting the area.

“We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Lynton.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2010

The Ingleside is a small family run Hotel and we stay there evrytime we visit Lynton. Our rooms have always been spacious and spotlessly clean. All rooms are en-suite with T.V's etc and there is a lounge with books, maps, music & puzzles for guests to use. The Ingleside is located near Lynton Town Hall on Lee Road and is therefore within a minutes walk of all shops, restaurants as well as the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway. The Hotel has a great view overlooking Lynton, the coast and Countisbury hill.

Unique Qualities: The breakfast is plentiful with lots of choices available and goes down well, especially after an early morning walk to The Valley of the Rocks. A 3 course evening meal is also available and is delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel is not licensed to serve alcohol but glasses are supplied for guests that bring their own wine etc. There is no corkage charge.

The Ingleside has a relaxed friendly atmosphere and Keith & Diana always make us feel welcome. If we choose to "eat in" Diana is happy to chill our wine during the day ready to serve with dinner. We felt at home soon after arriving on our first visit and we have visited many times since.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else.
