“Lynton Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Everything about this Bread & Breakfast is superb - from the moment we were warmly greeted by Jacqueline to the time we had to sadly leave. The location is wonderful - Victorial Lodge itself is a lovely home and quite simply it felt like we'd stepped back in time. Our room was perfect - complete with four poster bed. Spotlessly clean throughout. The breakfast was the very best we've ever had ( a quote from my wife) with home made yogurt / preserves / muffins etc with an array of fresh fruits, and this before starting on anything cooked! The girls who help out are lovely too. Congratulate yourselves if you decide to stay here - a 5 carat diamond of a rightly deserved 5 star B & B. We shall certainly be returning.

Room Tip: any room will be fine. Sorry there's no Fitness Centre, but if there were it would be "Exce...

“"You won't find better".”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed at the Victoria Lodge for my husbands 70th birthday. Booked 3 rooms for the family for 2nights. All the bedrooms were spotless & beautifully decorated. We were met by Jackie with a very warm welcome & tea & cake. She told us all about the area, places to visit & restaurants in the area where we had our evening meals & which were excellant. The breakfasts at Jackie's were "to die for", so much choice, truly 5star. There was even a bottle of bubbly & card in our room as it was a birthday celebration. Thankyou Jackie for making our weekend in Lynton so special, we will definately be back one day.

We stayed at the Victoria Lodge in August for our wedding anniversary, having been to Lynton 26 years ago for our honeymoon. The area is stunningly beautiful, with the valley of rocks just a short stroll from the hotel. We would not have asked for a better place. The decor is very in keeping with the property and pristinely clean. Breakfast was fabulous, even down to the little glass bowls on the buffet table filled with home made preserves. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We came back a day's walking to a chilled bottle of fizz and an anniversary card, compliments of Jackie and her team Can't rate it highly enough. Attention to detail was second to none.

“Fantastic B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Just returned from a brilliant three day stay at Victoria Lodge. Jacqueline and her team are the most friendly bunch we have encountered, the breakfasts were amazing, the rooms comfortable and beautifully furnished (sherry and chocolates included!), and nothing was too much trouble. Jacqueline went out of her way to be helpful, booked us a table in a local restaurant for our first night, recommended several others (all of which were as great as she promised), and was the perfect landlady. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: We had the Alice room, which is the top of the range room but totally worth it. Lovely decor and an...

“A luxurious trip back in time”

We arrived to a warm and friendly welcome. Jacqueline greeted us with refreshments and a wealth of knowledge about attractions and information on restaurants in the local area. The room (Helena) was immaculate and the general ambiance of the guest house was very stylish and relaxing. The attention to detail, evoking an atmosphere of the late Victorian era, was extremely effective in making our stay seem a world away from the 21st century rat race. The choice and quality of breakfast equaled that provided by any top hotel chain. The service (by Bev) was superb, whilst at the same time informal but highly efficient. We would certainly return to Jacqueline's home and recommend anyone else who wants a little bit of escapism to do the same.
