Our small group have friends could not have stayed in a better hotel for our annual reunion. The bubbly Polish receptionist was very eager to ensure that each of us were allocated rooms that suited our needs - and they all had magnificent views down to Lyunmouth harbour and across the sea to Wales. We all sat together in the spacious lounges for the included afternoon tea before getting ready for dinner in our spacious bedrooms. The dinner menu was small with 3 or 4 choices for each course - but all of it was so good. Lovely fresh ingredients, perfectly presented and so tasty. But 10 out of 10 must go to our waitress Natalia from the Czech republic who served us so efficiently and with such a pleasant smile and manner. She also served us at breakfast with the same friendly enthusiasm.
The hotel has recently changed hands - the previous owners having been there for over 50 years - the new owner who already owns 2 more local hotels, is making some changes to include a balcony to sit on in the summer to take in the panoramic view together with new beds, carpets, and a new kitchen and a library. There is a good size outdoor swimming pool, a new access down the hillside to the harbour. All the staff here that we encountered showed a great love of their job with a desire to ensure that the guests needs are met ot the highest standard.
The Wellcome group.
