“Village inn”

Just stayed at the village inn in Lynmouth. We only stayed one night and Bev, Mark and Tom made us feel very welcome. There were 6 of us on a walking trip and had 3 double rooms. All 6 of us were very happy and would come back again. Obviously this time of year it's a bit quiet but we all had a good time with the locals. The bar is very cozy and the rooms were perfect for what we wanted. I don't have a dog but seem to think that this place welcomes them!
We didn't have dinner but we had a good english breakfast which was one of the best I have ever had! It's a typical warm and friendly place and if you find fault you obviously have too much time on your hands!
Give it a try. We will be back!
Oh and hope the little puppy (Rolo) is well.

Room Tip: Some with sea view but if all you want is to put your head down after a long walk they are all good!

“Would stay there again with different room”

Stayed at 20 B&Bs en route from Lands End to John O'Groats. As 70 year olds we value comfort, quiet, service. Village Inn met all of those at price which was slightly below average for our tour. Particular room we had was smaller than average with no view - not a problem for us, but worth checking on different rooms when booking.

“A great welcome and wonderful service.”

My wife and i recently stayed here with our dog. What a great welcome. Our dog was being fussed and offered treats by mark even before we entered the pub.
We sayed in room 4. A large room on the top floor with a sea view. It was very clean an had a comfy bed which we both slept very well in.
As we were the only ones staying on 3 of our 5 night stay. Bev and mark offered us a later breakfast or even a light lunch - rather than having to be up early after all of our walking from the day before. Fantastic.
After visiting other pubs/ restaurants in the area. We felt that the village inn was the only true dog friendly place. Where the owners actually love the dogs rather than putting up with them for the added custom.
Due to illness we had to leave a day early and mark even gave us the nights money back! We did not expect this at all. What great service!

We will be back in the new year for sure.
Thank you for your hospitality once again.

“Wedding in the area 10th Sept”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

We spent 2 very pleasant nights at the Village Inn. Bev and Mark made us so welcome, made the arrangements for us to be picked up and brought back from the wedding, Mark also put our breakfast table in front of the telly so we could watch the Rugby World cup whilst we ate, his funny banter was refreshing. The rooms are very comfortable and we had a room overlooking the sea. The rest of the staff were all very friendly and did everything possible to make our stay really great.

“Soggy Dogs Welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011 via mobile

In the area this week & on Tuesday it was very wet so stayed in here most of the day....
The soggy dogs welcome sign outside made us laugh & we were treated with a lovely welcome from Razor the manager. He was really informative about the area & made all of the 11 dogs that were in there feel welcomed ( I think the biscuits helped).
We returned for a drink in the evening & although it was quite we had a impromptu music quiz between us (Swindon) & a couple from ( Gloucester) judged by Razor.
Didn't try any food but it looked lovely - proper pub food at pub prices-
highly recommend this pub
we will be back with or without the soggy dog !
