“A wonderful week's house party for my 60th birthday, spent in luxury with all my family”

From arrival to departure Paul and Lesley could not have been better hosts, warm and friendly but discreet. A special birthday meal was prepared for us and served in a beautiful dining room on the first night and we had one more meal later in the week. The food was delicious, Lesley is a wonderful cook, the rest of the time we self catered. As we were very lucky with the weather we were also able to B/Q.The 4 luxury spacious bedrooms, all in different styles, easily accomodated 8 adults, 2 young children and 2 babies. The kitchen was was very homely and spacious with an AGA and eating area. The location is less than 10minutes from the coast at Combe Martin, and less than 30 minutes to Saunton Sands and Woolacombe beaches, where we went for the day, took picnics and watched the family surfing. We also found a secluded beach in a pretty bay, only 10 minutes away. We had a good meal at the George and Dragon in Combe Martin.
Don't miss the opportunity of staying at this fabulous property, I cannot recommend it highly enough; who needs to go abroad.

“Very welcoming and friendly hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

We stayed here just one night. We arrived in the the afternoon of our stay and was greeted with a friendly smile, and a lovely cream tea with home made warm scones and jam, lush. Our suite was very large, traditional, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large twin basins and a roll top bath overlooking the beautiful views over the surrounding grounds. Lesley is a superb cook and our breakfast was just great, nothing is too much trouble here. We would have liked to have stayed longer. I would highly recommend this B & B (even if a little out of the way) but still on the edge of Exmoor and short drives to some neighbouring towns e.g. Bude, Ilfracombe.

We stayed for a week at Patchole Manor with our 2 children, my parents and 3 dogs. The house is wonderful with lots of space and superbly decorated. The kitchen has an Aga and is definitely the heart of the home. Each one of the bedrooms has an en-suite and they are decorated to the highest standards, we all said similar to a boutique hotel. Paul and Lesley could not have made us feel more welcome, and were always there to help. And if you get a chance to sample Lesley cooking - do! The Apple Pie was Divine! Definitely recommend and hope to go back again.

“Superb, understated luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2009

What a beautiful place, cant recommend enough. A group of 6 adults, 3 babies and a dog stayed at the Manor for a week and despite mixed weather had a great stay.

The house is elegantly dressed, the rooms are spacious and what a relief to find decent showers!

Lesley and Paul are great hosts, providing a warm welcome -even to the dog. Suggest you ask Lesley to cook for you one night, yum!

Will definitely be returning. Thanks to Lesley and Paul.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2009

We rented the Manor for a week's holiday, taking 3 dogs with us. The owners could not have been more accommodating. Lesley cooked us a super dinner for a surprise birthday party and Paul was the most pleasant "waiter" we could have wished for! Their easygoing, casual manner made us feel entirely at home and the setting is just so peaceful.
We catered for ourselves the rest of the time and the kitchen is extremely well appointed for this - my hubby is even considering installing an Aga at home!! The house has all mod cons and is well finished in a quiet country style of decor. Very elegant - and the fresh flowers everywhere were a lovely touch.
Thankyou Lesely, Paul, Lizzie and the staff for a great week.
