I spent one night at Travelodge for my graduation and it was comfortable enough for a brief stay. My mum and I shared a twin room, which had a doublr bed and a single bed. I slept on the single bed, which was a bit narrow but comfortable. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were clean and the shower was excellent. The room was basic but did include a TV, which was good because there isn't really much else to do there and I forgot to pack a book. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My main quibble is that they only provided two complimentary tea bags, which I felt was a little stingy! There is a restaurant at the Travelodge, but I opted to pick up a cold meal from the M&S food at the nearby services. It was pricey but perhaps tastier than the offerings at the Travelodge restaurant. The website has a warning about noise from the motorway, but I couldn't hear it at all from my room. All in all I was pleased and would recommend it for short stays. But for the price I'd probably opt for the Exeter YHA for longer stays (which I would also recommend if you don't mind shared bathrooms).
