Very small room ( no 7 ) don't take luggage, clean though, tiny bathroom, again clean. Handy location for my business meeting. Breakfast good but only 1 hour window, finishes at 9. Travelodge better value.

This hotel was described as a 4 star - we would not really agree!!

If it had been described as a mid-ragne B & B, I would have agreed;

The main problem was that we were given 3 smallish attic rooms at the front of the house overlooking a very busy and noisy main road. The windows did open but only a little allowing the road noise in but no through breeze .....

Admittedly, it was August but it was boiling hot and no air con or any way of cooling the rooms down - all 4 of us (the adults and the teenagers in the next door room) had a very uncomfortable night's sleep ...

the breakfast was fine - home cooked to order - but not buffet style and relatively little choice. The main problem here was that coffee was instant and tasted horrible ...
sorry, but we cant recommend this hotel despite the fact that we normally enjoy indpendent run establishments and we wont be back ....

Clean, comfortable and well appointed hotel. Plenty of storage in the room. Bonus of free wi fi. Prpoper cooked to order breakfast. Lovely friendly helpful staff. We've tried as few hotels i n Exeter when visiting daughter and this is thenone we'll go back to first.

I am making this review based on the fact this is a four star hotel and believe it is not worthy of the price and facilities so was very surprised with its rating. The welcome was poor and the woman at reception was only interested in taking our money. The breakfast times only had a window of an hour which I would expect more from a four star hotel. I was awoken in the morning by the smell of breakfast cooking which I rather would not have. There was no lift and above all no air conditioning in the rooms. It was quite noisy with the window open. Furthermore, there were no true left luggage facilities which I would expect from a four star hotel. On the plus side the breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and did not have standard white hotel bedding and towels (although both room and bathroom were tiny). Had this not been the case I would only have given 2 out of 5. Overall I would not stay in this hotel again.
