“Good value, bit noisy”

I think I had the best room (number 1), right next to the entrance. The atmosphere in this small hotel was friendly and relaxed. Good breakfast. Good location for visiting the university as well as the city of Exeter.
The only downside was that you could hear everything in the neighbouring rooms and upstairs (I woke because of my neighbours alarm clock).

“Excellent location and great value”

Excellent location and great value for money, including a nice breakfast! Clean, comfortable, good sized room. All of the staff were lovely, and they were more than happy to keep our backpacks safe for us whilst we spent time in Exeter after check-out. Would definitely stay here again.

“Cheap and Central”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Booked last minute, chosen as it said "Private parking close by", indicating a car park. As a Disabled Driver this is important to me. Turns out there is no private car park, you are supposed to borrow a residents permit and park where ever you can find.

The Room was clean but there was an odd lingering smell that i couldn't find the source of.
The bed was 2 single beds shoved together and the mattresses were far too soft for a good nights sleep and the front window is directly opposite the bus stop and some appartments - everyone can see into this room - Nets would solve this.

The breakfast was nice, plenty of it and it was fresh made and piping hot.

“Nice Small Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

We enjoyed our stay at The Clock Tower as we had one of the big rooms on the ground floor! Very helpful staff and a good breakfast in the price. The only drawbacks was the noise of the traffic in the mornings and the lack of onsite parking which was not what we had expected from their website! Not a good hotel if you have a car with a lot of luggage as you need to park normally a 5-10 min walk away!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for the kingsize bed so you get the biggest rooms

“No soundproofing, dragon receptionist”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

Hotel looks good and and most staff are very friendly and helpful, but the floors are very thin and you hear absolutely everything above and below.

In the morning reception is presided over by a notoriously moody woman who won't you let you stay even half an hour beyond the stingy 10.30 checkout time. Ask University of Exter to book somewhere else if they try to put you here.
