“Lovely stopover in a perfect location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Much the same as the review by KARDJK.
We booked the room the day before we were due to go to Lancaster and discovered that the rates had been reduced by £20.
This B&B sits next to the road and is really easy to find. It snowed as we arrived so was a welcome sight when we did struggle into the car park. There is plenty of parking to the left and right of the property.
We booked a family room which gave us a large main room with another with bunk beds in it. The bathroom is adequately equipped with a large bath/shower, etc. We were told that they had just refurbished upstairs so the heating was out of action in the corridors but the rooms were plenty warm enough and very comfortable. If anything the bed was slightly soft for my back but that's personal taste. Also, the place is advertised with wi-fi but there were no details in the guest information of how to access this.
Breakfast was lovely, cereals, fruit and a fry-up. Excellent.
Overall, I'd love to revisit if we're in the area again.

Room Tip: We booked a day before by phoning direct and was told that they sometimes reduce the room rates if t...

“We would certainlt return if we stay in the area again.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We spent two nights there in January and found the room large, clean and it had a wonderful view of Ullswater. We gathered that the room we had was due for refurbishment but it was still very nice. There are lovely walks from the hotel without the need to use your car in the Airia Force area which had great, high views of the area. The packed lunches were nice and the breakfast was great.

“Lovely hotel, beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We stayed for one night in this hotel a few weeks ago. The hotel is in the most beautiful location right next to Lake Ullswater. The view from the hotel is lovely.

The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms have very modern decoration - ours was neutral colours. The bed was extremely comfy and had a nice big fluffy duvet to keep us nice and cosy, although there was a radiator in the room that you could regulate yourself to control the temperature.

The bathroom was luxurious with a large shower with rain effect and again in very modern decor.

The room also had a flat screen TV on the wall and additional luxuries such as an ipod dock. There was also tea and coffee making facilities and some biscuits.

The breakfast was absolutely lovely - a very generous amount of things to choose from. We had the full works - yoghurt, cereal, toast (which is homemade by the hotel and absolutely delicious!) and then a cooked breakfast. The breakfast was very nice as it wasn't greasy at all as you get in some places.

There is also a nice conservatory where you can sit and have drinks which looks out to the lake. WE did not make the most of this only being there for a short time but it did look very nice.

Staff / owners also very friendly and helpful with suggestions of where to visit.

The hotel is not cheap but you have to bear in mind that you are staying in the middle of the Lake District so nowhere will be cheap! The hotel was actually much cheaper than quite a few places we hd looked at and the quality was certainly very good.

Had a lovely stay here and if we return to the area I would definitely go back.

“Perfect Lakeside Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

The Ullswater View B&B was a perfect place to stay. Our family stayed for one night, wish it had been longer.
We were greeted with friendly staff and we were even shown to our room. Certainly an old tradition that isn't used much.
The rooms were very modern. The room for the adults had a flat screen TV, a tray with yummy cookies, sparkling and still water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.iPod docking station also provided. No fridge provided. Room for children had a bunk bed and a small flat screen TV mounted on the wall. Bathroom was very modern and clean, with toiletries and sewing kit provided.
Service in the restaurant was lovely and food perfect.
Free WI-Fi was provided within rooms, you need to get a code from reception to activate the WI-Fi. Also free parking provided.
Overall would stay again, if ever in the Lake District.

“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

We loved this B&B, it was very easy to find and has a lovely view of the lake. We were greeted by a lovely warm host and her cute little dog (who likes a cuddle and tries to get into cars!) Our room was lovely and modern with an ipod docking station and big TV (for a hotel room). Bathroom was luxury. Breakfast the next day was the best of our trip (we went to 4 places in total). We will visit again.
