“A lovely B and B in a beautiful location”

We stayed here for 2 nights in August. We hadn't booked so we were lucky to get the room overlooking the garden. The room was spotless with plenty of hanging space, a TV, tea, coffee, biscuits and mineral water plus a spacious en-suite bathroom. The owner Jayne was lovely - very welcoming and friendly. We were able to relax straight away. The breakfasts were great - lots of fresh fruit , cereals, toast, yoghurt as well as a cooked selection. There is a car park behind the house so no problems trying to find a space. St Mawes is set in a lovely location and linked to the rest of the Fal estuary by a network of ferries and buses. We took the ferry to Place and had a great walk around the coast. For longer stays then ours, I would recommend getting a ferry/bus pass. We would recommend Little Newton without hestitation for couples or singles and at £59 a night for the 2 of us we thought it was fantastic value. We hope to return one day and look forward to meeting Jayne again.

“A delightful stay, highly recommended”

A fantastic full-English breakfast cooked to perfection was served in addition to a range of cereals and fresh fruits- all beautifully presented. Spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable and peaceful with privacy respected if you just want to come and go. Nothing was too much trouble and everything I requested was readily provided. Jayne grew up in St Mawes and has valuable local knowledge. I was sent off on two perfect walks with faultless directions! It was a delightful stay and despite only staying one night, I left feeling fully rested and looked-after. A rare find, with an owner who is accommodating in every way.

“Brilliant !”

My wife and I have stayed with Jayne several times in recent years. It was a brilliant place to stay on the first occasion and it is every bit as good today. Everything that other visitors have said about Little Newton is true - the rooms, cleanliness, breakfast, views and above all the friendly welcome by Jayne and her family.

We have recommended Little Newton to friends coming to a wedding in St Mawes in September. They will not be disappointed.

One minor correction is that the view from Room 1 is not of St Mawes Harbour but of the Percuil River which is even more attractive.

The owner Jayne was very welcoming and friendly. The room was spotless and very comfortable.Room 1 has the best view overlooking St Mawes and the river. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of cereals and a hot fried breakfast, fruit and yogurt. LOVELY!!!
The walk to the town is only 5 minutes but the walk back up the HILL takes quite a bit longer, but the view is worth it.
This B and B is Highly recommended.

“Warm, friendly and great location”

My fiance and I were intending to ride through St Maws but as we turned the corner into the harbour we instantly fell in love with the place. Our initial reaction was reinforced by Jane at the Little Newton B&B. Ths was recommended by one of the hotels as a friendly and welcoming B&B and it did not disappoint. We had room 1 which had a great view and plenty of space with a huge bed. The breakfast was fantastic, stawberries ad grapefruit followed by a full english and a choice of cereal. Jane was really friendly and helpful and allowed us to store the bike safely. The location is great, only a few minutes walk from town, but probably not for those who don't like steep hills. We will definately come back and next time will stay longer!
