“Friendly place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Stayed 2 nights in November, and so the hotel was very quiet as would be expected (there were only one other couple there). Stayed in Heligan - lovely room, great beds. Nice big bathroom. Only small gripe that they have soap and shampoo dispencers - so much prefer small bottles! Loads of wardrobe and cupboard space. They even had a pir of binoculars to look out over the harbour.
Because it was quiet not many staff around, but that casued no issues. Food was very good. Ate in restaurant on Saturday night - very nicely presented. Breakfasts were hearty. Friend was staying at the hotel over the road and commented that the food at the Rising Sun was so much better and less pretenscious.
Overall good value and would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: Go for rooms overlookign harbour

“Too short”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

Stayed for one night recently and are already planning to return asap. The room was lovely. Ate in the restaurant, food was really good. St Mawes was quiet but it is out of season, we prefer it that way.

Room Tip: We stayed in the suite (Glendurgan) and have decided the other double rooms would have been just as...

We stopped here for lunch recently and we were delighted we had! The food and service was fabulous, the fish was so fresh and portions were very generous. Prices were reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitley recommend!
