We enjoyed our weekend stay here (once we found it!) Former vicarage with gardens, sitting room, and honesty bar for guests. We had instructions for getting in to our room had we arrived early. It's within walking distance of the town centre and sea front, so once there we did not need to take the car out again (it's advisable not to drive round St Ives town centre unless you really have to). A word of warning : if there is a choice, try not to park under the trees, as there are some very prolific birds up there (I still haven't completely cleaned the car five weeks later!) Breakfast was excellent and the dining room very elegant.

Having stayed at the Old Vicaridge only earlier this month, we have to say that our stay was a little marred by the standard of the beds, we did feel that for a 4* B&B the attention to detail was a little lacking, The checking in was ok amit the fact you cannot arrive between the hours for 2pm/4pm. and when you have driven a long way all you need is your room. However the breakfasts where superb.
The meet and greet needs to be addressed and this would make all the difference
A lovley cup of tea on arrival would not go amiss.

We have been staying at the Old vicarage since 1969 returning yearly for many years,and now all our family are grown up they also return with our grandchildren.
The space in the hotel unequalled in a guest house ,facilities are superb badminton and putting on the lawns seperate bar open all hours, huge lounge with hi fi tv dvd and many videos and a comprehensive library.
Although the hotel is some way out of town a hourly bus runs from the adjacent rugby club and parking is free.
Breakfast is as good as it gets, for the price I would venture to say it cannot be topped.If you have sharp eyesight you will find troika and original bernard leech pots being used. You might also be lucky enough to meet the resident ghost.
If you are lucky enough to find a vacancy don't hesitate.

A beautiful and comfortable hotel both inside and out with friendly and relaxed owners that give a stay the personal touch. The stay was for a birthday celebration and I was not disappointed.

My room had a country house look and was well furnished with a look that suggested the complete opposite of the corporate "buy the prints and knick-nacks by the 100". The rest of the house is also sympathetically restored.

The hotel has parking ( a big plus in St Ives) and is within 10-15 minutes walk of the centre. The bad news is that the walk home is uphill - not really suitable if you have mobility problems.

I would stay there again
