“Lovely Holiday, Excellent B&B, Good Food & Hospitality...”

We love Cornwall but live too far in deep Kent. :(

As it happened our room in "The Hollies" didn't have a sea view but so what? We enjoyed that properly with a good walk and an all day sightseeing tour, we then returned to relax in a clean fresh smelling room with a comfortable bed that even a light sleeper like me couldn't resist but have a deep sleep in.

Breakfast time was just as pleasent, the food was good and plenty, we were looked after very well and nothing was too much trouble when we asked for anything (places to visit, directions, parking advice...etc.), and if there were any issues of concerns to us at the time, Well we just can't think of any trivial nit-picking right now.

Whilst we can't visit Cornwall as often as we like, at least we now know where we can expect a genuine warm welcome when we return next time, an experience totally different to some night stays in some impersonal well known brand hotel that we made do with in the past.

Many thanks to Bev & Ian for making our stay most pleasent. Highly Recommended...

Excellent. The owner was loverly great stay. Lovely breakfast and spotless room. Think this location has been unfairly bullied looking at the reviews below. This should be about constructive feedback it's a very very good b and b. Not a five star hotel after all.

To the owners of this hotel i am very sorry that you have been at the negative end of this site. Most of us make a review on our experience not the wannabe's who for some idiotic reason believe that they are justified by making statements about a drop of old water in a kettle etc and one does wonder about the reason for them taking this so called morale high ground . Complaints are for places like we stayed in York old beds mildew around the window and wall paper coming off the wall. Black mildew around the tiles etc and breakfast being served by a man liken to John Cleese in Fawlty Towers. When we dared to complain he retorted well you choose to stay here. We are not all the same so for all of the advisors who were appalled by this display of egotism we apoligise!

Had a fabulous weekend in St Ives - helped by a lovely stay at The Hollies. A fab location, welcoming staff and a cracking breakfast. Looking forward to returning with my elderly parents next Easter.
