“Professional and friendly, very helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

This is a great base for exploring the area. The room was standard and small, but quiet. It had the tiniest bathroom that I ever came accross. For one person, the room was fine. I had expected the hotel to be a bit closer to the St. Ives (30 minutes stiff walk), but if it were, I would have missed the spectacular coast path from Carbis Bay to St. Ives. The staff was very helpful and provided quite some information for my sightseeing.
As I arrived late at night I had someproblems to find the hotel as there is no illuminated hotel sign, the restaurant was dark and the parking lot near invisible at night.
The restaurant is definitely one or even two categories above the hotel, in ambience as well as the food which was just great and I looked forward to it every evening.

“I loved it and highly recommend it to anyone else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

This is one of the nicest, most comfortable hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff were very friendly and hospitable and helped to make my stay very enjoyable. Their standard of service was exemplary. I had a small single room but it was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is the about a half hour walk to the centre of St Ives. There is a beautiful beach and also the train station about 10 mins walk from the hotel. There is a bar and lounge and free internet access. The restaurant in the hotel is fabulous and there isn't any need in making the trip into St Ives for dinner. It's got everything you need!

“A bit pricey for what you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

We paid £114 per night to stay here during August and we failed to see what we were paying for. Firstly, the hotel is not in St. Ives itself and is a 40 minute walk away - we weren't expecting this. Our room was fairly basic and the bathroom was very small and in need of an update.
The positive points were the friendly staff and the hotel having its own car park. I wouldn't recommend this hotel as I am sure there must be more suitably priced hotels within St Ives itself.

“GREAT PLACE, FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

We did not stay here, but used the bar and restaurant regularly during our 2 and half week stay in carbis bay. We found the resort of Carbis Bay/St Ives superb and if we did not walk into St Ives for the evening we ate at the Atlantic and to be honest found it such much better quality than the restaurants which we visied in St Ives, to the extent that if we stayed in St Ives we would have walked into carbis bay to use the restaurant and bar, as the food was of far better quality, the atmosphere was friendly and there is not the difficluty of getting a table. The restaurant menu is approx £15 + for a main but they do a 3 course early evening menu, however they also doe bar meals for £6-8 which are of the same quality of the restaurant but just more basic dishes - for example best mussels i had in st ives at £7! Home made burger of nearly half pound which was £6.95 and better than burgers at the blas burgerworks. You really must try it. The drinks at the bar are very reasonably priced and it has free wi fi and is very very family friendly. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional, especially the bar man who was very very efficient and friendly, as was the waitress and the owner.
We recommend this place 100% for eating and drinking and as a family of 4, with 2 children of 4 and 11 we loved the place.
Thanks for your hospitality and for being a great restaurant and pub- we will definitely be back!!!

“Good service, but the hotel falls short”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

Good points - The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a nice terrace/seating area out front. The views from the front are beautiful. It is in a good location, very near Carbis Bay.

Bad points - The bathrooms were absolutely tiny and the water pressure in the showers was very low. Rooms could do with a lick of paint. We stayed in an economy room first night which was very small, but a family room after which was a good size although the double bed seemed very small.

Overall I wouldn't stay here again - for the amount they charge I would rather pay a little extra for a higher class hotel.

Room Tip: Economy rooms are very small - spend a little extra for a larger room.

Thankyou for your review. My sincere apologies that Atlantic did not meet your expectations. We have a refurbishment programme in place and your comments have been noted and will be added to this programme and addressed. The economy is one of the smaller doubles and I apologise for any discomfort you experienced.
