We were under impression this was a hotel, but in our opinion the nook is most definitely a B&B.
Generally clean and friendly. The room was an ok size, but the bathroom was tiny, and the walls are very thin.
I understand that bed firmness is a personal thing but, our bed was very very soft indeed.
It's about a 15 min walk into the centre of town, and it's extremely steep...

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a lovely stay, the room was perfect, the breakfast was excellent and located just 10 minutes from St Ives town. Will stay here again

Friendly hosts, clean rooms and a decent breakfast so why the 3 star review? My gripe is with the size of the room we were staying in. It was tiny! My wife and I had to cooperate to get the simplest tasks completed in the room. Due to the small size the room got very hot once a shower was in use and a hairdryer going. The paper thin walls meant we could hear our neighbours very clearly as well.
Such a shame, I know that it is all about maximising the return from the footprint on the property but the room felt shoe-horned in. Other reviewers have mentioned the same, perhaps we had the same room.
I can recommend the hotel/guesthouse but would urge you to check on the room size prior to booking.

We had 5 adults staying at the The Nook in late July 2011 for 4 nights. The rooms while small were very comfortable and well appointed. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast is a fairly typical English Breakfast with good variety, although the poached eggs tended to be overcooked. The coffee was outstanding. The owners are friendly and this is a perfect place to spend a week or two.
The Nook is situated about a 15-20 minute walk from the heart of St Ives which makes it a perfect distance. If you are two tired to climb back up the hill at the end of the day a cab is only 3GBP. St Ives is an absolutely wonderful town in the heart of Cornwall with easy access to the many different sites and towns in the area. St Ives itself is a wonderful walking town with excellent galleries, shops, restaurants and beaches. One option is a download mystery walk from www.treasuretrails.co.uk which gives a fun self-guided tour of the town. The town itself is worth a few days; and the surrounding areas could keep people engaged for a number of weeks.
