I would stay here again any time. The location was absolutely perfect, within close walking distance of the Tate St. Ives Museum, the Barbara Hepworth museum, most of the local beaches (Porthmeor and Porthminster), and the strand. The exterior of the building and entrance were beautifully decorated with flowers and vines, and the interior was just as nice. My room was nicely decorated, with a spacious double bed, flat-screen tv, and en-suite wc and shower, and an assortment of teas/coffees and biscuits were provided in the room. Full English breakfast was included, and was quite delicious. My only complaints were that there are no telephones in the rooms (although there is a pay phone in the lobby), and that the desk closes from 10 am to 2 pm, meaning that an arrival between those hours is not always possible (although an arrival close to 10 am was possible for me because I called ahead and requested one). The front doors are locked from 10 am to 2 pm, but key access is provided to guests so they can come and go. Check-out is early, but luggage can be left in the lobby to be picked up later on the departure day. St. Ives is absolutely beautiful (I went in late August), and most everything is within walking distance of the town center. Don't miss the shopping along quaint cobblestone streets, where you can find everything from art galleries, antiques and clothing stores to eateries offering authentic cornish pasties and cream teas.
